    Flats et Heels for 2011

One of the most unique designs for Spring/Summer 2011! Melissa has teamed up with Italian architect, Gaetano Pesce to create this versatile ankle boot. Features hollow circles connected only by their edges in which the consumer can customize by cutting the plastic discs off however you want. Get creative and cut them high or low. Into a peep-toe, sling-back, ballerina flats, or even into a sandal. Add your personal style by even decorating them! ‘This design proves itself to be highly innovative in every sense following his trademark modular design.’

    You can customize them!
The newest Melissa shoes!  You guys all know how much of a die hard heels fan I am. But since I moved to NYC, I have only taken my heels out once or twice. This is the city for walking. I am all down for cute flats this summer.  These are cool…. They look like bathtub mats :] definitely a conversation piece. I would love to throw these in my bag for after the club.  2011 in suppose to be the year of ‘noisy’ heels. You know like the teacher walking down the hall. Clack Clack Clack

    Maybe something in between?

    Meet Melissa Anglomania

Jellies meets stilettos, meets Vivienne Westwood, meets strawberry shortcake?

There are few times that a girl will meet a pair of shoes that appeal to all of her 5 senses… ladies, meet Melissa Anglomania!

After a routine hair cut on the Danforth, I thought I’d pop into one of my favorite shops ‘Balisi‘… after all, Spring Trend Report was just around the corner and while I had an incredible dress from Brazen‘s newest collection (courtesy of Amanda Brugel at The Red Carpet Room), I didn’t have anything to complement my toes! And… there they were!!! I saw them and as though I could hear them chant my name I didn’t hestitate for a moment to request my size and try them on… they felt like a squishy, stiletto dream! As I posed in the mirror, the hipster behind the counter explained that Vivienne Westwood did a colabo with Melissa shoes to create the “Anglomania” line and that this gorg pair was a part of the collection, she told me to “take a sniff”… and while this took me aback, I did only to find the gorg, nostalgic scent of old skool strawberry shortcake dolls! “I’ll take ’em” I said, and it was as easy as that!
A match made in Jellie stilettos – designed by Vivienne Westwood – that smell like strawberry shortcake HEAVEN!!!

    Vivi Westwood for Melissa Shoes

Every year, I have an obsession with finding the perfect white summer shoe: so why should 2009 be any different! Before going out for dinner and after dropping of my ‘The Status of Things’, I was strolling on Queen St W today and saw these!

Pretty cute huh! Perfect for the April showers and rainy days ahead. They are called the Lady Dragon – PVC = no blisters! I first tried Melissa shoes in Lavish and Squalor but didn’t know how I felt about them. But after reading this…

“Vivienne Westwood and Melissa have combined to take a modern twist on a classic piece of Westwood footwear – the Lady Dragon Shoe. This heeled Melissa shoe is made from beige PVC and features an adjustable ankle-strap. A large red heart lays on the toe.”
    – Made in collaboration with Vivienne Westwood, the eclectic British fashion designer known for popularizing punk fashion
    – Hypoallergenic plastic material easily molds to the foot, providing superior comfort while being 100% safe to your health

You can see the whole collection here

Last year, I got these cute ones from Chinese Laundry… Love them, wore them so much they are goners..
so I think these VVxMel are going to be my signature ‘white shoe’ for spring!

You might know them from the original 1970’s jelly sandal – they were one of the originators of that all-time classic! This sustainable and recyclable material molds to your foot after a few days of wear and provides a nearly scandalous degree of comfort. It’s also totally waterproof! And if your shoes get dirty? Clean them with good ‘ol soap and water.
