What She Wore: Recap of @WMCFashionWeek #ootd
I get really excited and frustrated when World MasterCard Fashion Week comes around, because I have no clue what to wear lol. I’m excited for all the fashion goodness, but when it comes to dressing myself, I’m a total wreck. This season, I did what I always do, BRIGHT COLOURS. I figured people won’t really notice how nice, or not so nice your outfits are, when there are nice and bright colours to distract them lol. So my approach this season was keep it simple, and O.D. on lots of colour, prints and head wraps. As for my make-up, I chose to keep that simple as well; clean face, winged eyes, and a burgundy lip. I planned on wearing my fro out this season, but the weather was crazy honey, so that wasn’t happening! Here’s what I wore during 5 of some of the the most fashionable days in Toronto π
DAY ONE
I had just gotten off work, and I was exhausted. It was cold outside, and I was feeling blue… I was also late so I had to think quickly lol
Headwrap: H&M | Dress and Earrings: Forever21 | Vintage Blazer: Black Market | Shoes: Jessica Simpson | Bangles: Costa Blanca
DAY TWO
The mustard and the camo headwrap just seemed like a good idea… and as long as the colours were popping, I was cool with it π
Headwrap: Holt Renfrew | Vintage Blazer: Black Market | Dress: H&M | Shoes: Aldo
I had the day off and the chance to take a long and glorious nap, so I was feeling more fashion week-y on day three! Plus, this jumpsuit was TIGHT when I first bought it, so you can only imagine the JOY I felt, when I put it on and it fit! I had to rock it!
Headwrap: It’s a pashmina π | Vintage Jumpsuit: Black Market | Shoes: BCBG MAXAZRIAΒ | Bangles: A market in Accra, Ghana
The “Big Red Bow” was a hit during fashion week, and this is the first time I’d ever tied my headwrap like this. Success!
I was feeling fun, flirty and girly, so this dress was a natural choice!
Headwrap: H&M | Earrings: Forever21 | Vintage Silk Dress: Black Market | Bag: Steve Madden | Wedges: Aldo
I really didn’t know what to wear for day five, I was tired from all the shows and events, and just needed a nap; but once I remembered that I had this dress that I bought in the UK almost a year ago, everything fell into place π
Headwrap: Black Market | Earrings: Forever21 | Dress: Miss Selfridge | Shoes: Aldo
There you have it! What do you all think of my choices?
Stay fly!

Wayback style @ Flashback
Vintage is definitely in! Especially in the summer when you can get some nice dresses or old school funky coloured shoes. Flashback which is a staple of the Kensington Market in Toronto houses thousands of pieces from various decades and you can always find something really interesteing there! There’s also Flashback 2 and the King of Kensington which is owned by the same wonderful gentleman.
Recently I did a 80’s retro video shoot and rented out some clothing from FLASHBACK. Have you been yet?

Pink Carpet Soiree welcomes Secondlook Jewelry
Before written language, or the spoken word, there was jewelry. In the late 1800s, British archaeologist Archibald Campbell Carlyle said of primitive man “the first spiritual want of a barbarous man is decoration” . More than just a curio from the past, jewelry, like art, is a window into the soul of humanity, and a poignant reminder of that which separates humankind from the animal kingdom β a desire to capture the essence of beauty, to posses its secrets, and to unlock its mysteries”.I am so excited to welcome SecondLook Jewelry, a LA based jewelry line to the ultimate Sex and the City Party! When I first saw her stuff, all I could think of was CARRIE CARRIE CARRIE.
Second Look Jewelry combines vintage costume jewelry with new materials to update, recycle and create a second look; a new statement piece.
Each piece is carefully put together and One of a Kind.
A signature of mine are the hand sculpted, hand painted resin flowers tucked into many of the designs. Come meet Ann Raymond, the talented designer behind SecondLook Jewelry and you can request a particular flower and colors for a custom piece.
You know how Carrie loves her flowers. We are no different!See you on the Pink Carpet!

PCC Flea Market
Every first Sunday of the month, the Pasadena City College has a huge flea market with over 450 vendors. They are spread through out the parking lot, and even in the underground parking garage. They have a lot of antiques, vintage and assorted knick knacks. Some would say trash, some would say treasures. For me, I love things with stories and meanings. How often do we keep nostalgic items like faded movie tickets or that one necklace or old belt you just love. Going to a place like this made me think about consumerism and how many things we go through in life. To buy, to have, to discard. Such is life.
