This is going to be a very short post because I don’t have much to say about the SuperStay 10Hr Stain Gloss except that I’m in love. It definitely does not stay on for 10 hours but it’s a great product nonetheless. I received the product in Refreshing Red at an event I went to recently. I’ll start out with what I really liked about the product. The smell is wonderful. It’s like fruit punch. The texture really is like a stain and a gloss in one. Unlike other stains where you have to apply a balm over it, this one gives you a smoother texture than other stains but isn’t sticky or too wet like a normal gloss.

My only complaint about this product is the staying power. Over an 8 hour work day, I reapplied at least 3 times but they were very light applications (not needing a mirror to reapply). I noticed that near the inner parts of my lips color faded pretty quick but a light coat of the stain gloss hybrid and it was as good as new.

I am planning to purchase the Maybelline SuperStay 10Hr Stain Gloss in at least one or two other colors. Although, it may not live up to its’ name completely, I’m hooked on the smooth texture, smell, and color payoff it gives right off the bat. The applicator of the stain gloss is like a double doe foot with an open center like the Infallible Lipglosses, which is pretty good and precise with color application.  I will add though, after a few applications of the product through out the day, my lips did stay redder for longer.

For between $7-8, this is a great purchase. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for something lighter than a lipstick, more weightless than a gloss, and more hefty than an ordinary stain. It truly is the best of all lip products in one. If you don’t mind whipping the tube out for a quick reapplication through the day, you’ll love it just as much as I do!
