Cami’s Favorite Things: Christmas Edition

It’s finally Christmas time here in Las Vegas! Cami is officially 1 and 1/2 years old! Time has really flown by and I can’t believe she is a real grown up dog now. She is not a puppy anymore and definitely not the youngest at the park. Cami really LOVES to play with other dogs. I make sure I let her experience a range of toys and treats so she can learn what she likes and doesn’t like. So here is her list of Cami’s favorite things!

The vegan dog treats are made of sea kelp! They are easy to break in 1/2 and Cami loved these! It took her at least 3 mins to give this treat a good chew before it disappears. Our good friends at Swedencare sent these for us to try and we give it two thumbs up!

ProDen PlaqueOff® Dental Bones are dog chews with the PlaqueOff System®which help clean plaque and tartar by abrasive action. Used daily, this natural product made with sea kelp can complement ordinary dental hygiene. Available in four tasty flavors. Choose between Turkey & Cranberry Flavor, Chicken and Pumpkin Flavor, Bacon Flavor and Vegetable Fusion Flavor.

  • Part of your daily oral care maintenance. Cleans plaque, tarter and
    freshens breath through abrasive action.

Blue Dog Bakery Pumpkin Cookies

As you know, pumpkin is a great source of fiber and nutrition for dogs and humans. Pumpkin seeds are great for dogs too! I know that Cami loves pumpkin and she was excited to try these new cookie flavors. The best part is that shapes and the cookies are quite large! in size. I give these for her training or just as a mid day snack. Can’t wait to also try the new Gingerbread flavor too.

What makes Blue Dog Bakery treats unique:

  • All-natural, high quality ingredients that use human-grade ingredients!
  • Fresh baked and made in the USA
  • No animal by-products, no artificial flavors, no colors or preservatives
  • Pumpkin biscuits are made with REAL Pumpkin
  • Gingerbread treats are made to clean dog’s teeth and freshen breath

Blue Dog Bakery treats are available at Target, Walmart, various grocery stores throughout the U.S., and online through, and the Blue Dog Bakery website.

So Cami is not the most sporty dog but it’s cool to check out dog gear on Instagram! Check out @NeewaUSA – Neewa designs dog harnesses, leashes, belts, lines and more, for all dog owners who love outdoor sports. All products 🇮🇹 Made in Italy

When you are a round little pup and a chunky mama, it’s hard to find cute clothes that fit! But Doggie T Shirt has the best selection of hoodies for big dogs. We got so many cool things from there, including this pink hoodie. They have up to 5XL.

Cami’s Favorite Things May Edition

May has been a great month for Cami. She turned 1 on June 2 so all of May she got a ton of toys and treats! Here are some of the best things she love this month.

Dog Toys from Hartz: Tug Toy  – I could not figure out why she was so obsessed then I realized this toy is bacon scented!  Our Dura Play® brand is made even more fun and interactive with the Tug of Fun® line extension of toys. The ball’s tough latex shell and foam filling make for a desirable chew, while the sturdy rope running through the toy offers enjoyable hours of tugging and tossing. The Double Ring toy consists of a ball at the center and two rope loops that are easy to grasp on both ends of the toy. Owner and pet will enjoy a challenging game of tug! The toy is bacon-scented, too.

She also loves the duck toy too! This toy is so cute and very durable. Made from ballistic nylon, they are durable and made for strong play and chew. The rope adds interactive play value between owner and pet – they even float!

Twigo Pet Tag: This Love TAG is sooo cute! She loves wearing this tag to day care 🙂

Kick Fetch – I loved this toy at Petco and it was $30+ but I found it on Amazon for half the price!

Cami’s Favorite Things February Edition

Cami is almost 9 months old now and so far she has been on a raw diet! We are open to letting her try various treats and foods out there as long as they are top notch quality! A lot of people have asked me what my ‘goals’ are and intent in feeding Cami such high quality food. I guess I have a few answers. One, I want to make sure she thrives and not just survives. I want her to be healthy, happy and eating what is BIOLOGICALLY appropriate for her. If I feed a bird Snickers bar instead of seed and worms that it’s suppose to have, you will feel strange right? I think dogs need what they are designed to eat, meat. Yet I know living in urban cities and homes, sometimes you need alternatives. So we have found a bunch of stuff that’s awesome, nutritious and accessible! Hope you enjoy our list for this month!

  1. Health Extension has been keeping pets healthy since 1963 by offering nourishing recipes that pet parents can feel good about serving to their pets. Each recipe is crafted with super premium ingredients to help support stronger bones and immune system. Made in the USA, their diets include:
  • Grain Free Dry Dog food varieties offer all the health benefits of the Holistic Health Extension System in a grain-free formula. You won’t find any added hormones – just high-quality meat as the first ingredient – because sensible protein levels are the first step to a healthy life. Available in: Buffalo & Whitefish, Chicken & Turkey, Salmon, Duck, Venison, and Buffalo & Whitefish Little Bites.

  • Grain Free Stews for dogs are a superb source of high-quality protein. The formulas also provide an excellent source of vitamins and minerals. Your dog will enjoy and benefit from the stew due to its lack of growth hormones, steroids, meat by-products, and allergy related fillers. Available in: Chunky Chicken Stew, Tasty Turkey Stew and Savory Beef Stew.

We recently tried the Savory Beef Stew and I mix in a spoonful along with her breakfast. She loves it!

We always read the ingredients label so here it is:

beef broth, chicken, beef, Carrots, dried egg whites, potato starch, dried egg product, peas, Guar gum, salt, added color, Tricalcium Phosphate, dried potatoes, sodium phosphate, beet pulp, ground flaxseed, potassium chloride, natural flavor, Ferrous Sulfate, Xanthan Gum, Choline Chloride, Zinc Oxide, Vitamin E Supplement, Copper Proteinate, Sodium Selenite, Manganese Sulfate, Thiamine Mononitrate, Niacin Supplement, d-Calcium Pantothenate, Vitamin A Supplement, Riboflavin Supplement, Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Potassium Iodide, Pyridoxine Hydrocloride, Vitamin D3 Supplement, folic Acid.

2. We tried vension from Nature’s Logic! This brand is dedicated to offering diets that are made exclusively with whole foods and 100% natural ingredients. Available for both canines and felines, the diets:

  • Are free of common allergens and include no corn, wheat, rice, soy, potato, tapioca, peas, or sweet potatoes
  • Contain natural antioxidants from fruits and vegetables grown in the USA
  • Do not contain any man-made synthetic vitamins, minerals or amino acids, nor any genetically engineered fruits, veggies, nuts, grasses, or seeds
  • Have probiotics and enzymes that help increase nutrient absorption and aid in digestion
  • Are nutrient dense and highly digestible

This one is more like a pate type of consistency and was easy to scoop out. It is moist and has no ‘gravy’. Cami loves this one too! One of the interesting ingredients in this food is clay. I know it has wonderful minerals and used often in products for detox.  This is probably the easiest way for me to feed and give Cami liver!

3. Cami graduated from Puppy School! We decided to check out 2 schools in the last few months and I recommend them both! One is more of a formal class with 6-8 students and held at Smarty Paws and the 2nd one is by Tino (Peace Love and Pitbulls) held at a outdoors at Desert Breeze Park. What I liked about taking Cami is learn is that she can be around dogs without always being in ‘play’ mode and she learned a lot! Even though I had Jacob for 11 years, it is always good to get a refresher course for new puppies! Puppies are brand new and need a lot of exposure to various situations.

4. Toy Store! One of our friends from school told us about the Dog Supplies Outlet store so we went to check it out.  It was filled with toys, treats and the best part was Cami got a chirpy ball from JW and an orange monkey fist knot rope. Very successful and tons of fun.

5. Treats ++ This brand is so cool. I and Love and You dog treats are Nice Moist Jerky and can be used for training. We used these in school and Cami learned ‘down’. They are easy to tear into small bits and the Chicken and Duck are so yummy and considered a ‘high value’ treat that’s perfect for training. We also trained with their dry kibble… They are heart shaped! Grain free and filled with Probiotics for easy digestion.

6. Uber for Dogs? No really. This is the first on demand Dog Walking App! I haven’t tried it yet because they don’t service Vegas but I’d love to be a walker. Check out Wag App.

7. I saw this funny dog tag on This is not Cami but it looks a lot like her! ha ha!

8. One of the oldest brand of dog treats I recall is the Bil Jac Liver in the milk carton type packaging! I am so happy to see their brand update includes the ORIGINAL recipes still! This one is a fan favorite and Cami loves when I hide these in her toys and Kong! A word from Bil Jac:

  • Because of our unique processing, no fat is added to Bil-Jac Super Premium Dog Food.
  • We use much more REAL CHICKEN and REAL CHICKEN ORGANS than other leading brands.
  • We never use grain gluten meals or grain protein concentrates as a source of protein in our formulas.
  • Our use of carbohydrates is to provide nutritional balance and energy — not as a substitute for protein.
  • Our unique processing method may eliminate the perceived “allergic” symptoms dogs exhibit when carbohydrates in their diet are not properly processed.

Your New Best Friend on

I woke up early to write this post because it has been on my mind all last night and the entire week. I have a neighbor who does NOT take care of his dog. His dog is in kept in filthy conditions with flies all over him and hardly any water. He has never been out of his kennel for the past 2 months. Furthermore, the dog is sweet as can be. He only barks when he is hungry and I can understand that.

He is black but actually covered in dust.

The worst part is, I wrote to the local humane society and I got ZERO response. It is because the shelter is already FULL of pit bulls and why would they want to take in one more.  There are so many worst and tragic stories out there, they can’t save them all – I guess. What a pity. It is annoying enough that people continue to breed dogs, sell them and they all end up in shelters and Craigslist.  Millions of dogs are killed each year because they are unwanted.

This weighs on my heart heavily and I urge you all to seriously make some room in your heart and home for an unwanted pet this holiday season. They will change your life in ways you never can imagine. Humans and animals are suppose to live in peace and harmony. We have so much to learn from one another and the system is broken right now.  Rescue a pet in your area using and find your new best friends.

November is Adopt-A-Senior pet month!

So Nick Jonas, Keith Urban and Pitbull Walk into a Bar…

Actually, they didn’t walk into any bar. They walked into Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC for the first ever PlentiTogether LIVE show, on behalf of the new Plenti Credit Card from Amex

I have to be honest, this was probably the most unique compilation of artists I’ve seen at a show. This includes the time I was 16 and went to Bamboozle to see Snoop Dog play after my favorite emo band, Say Anything perform. Black eyeliner, Motorola flip phones and Myspace!

Regardless, this was an AMAZING concert. The folks over at Plenti and Amex sure know how to throw a concert. Nick Jonas came on first and melted hearts as he popped up in a white t shirt, guns ablazin and belting out “Jealous” and “Chains”.

The crowd went crazy as he performed, and I think I may have even spotted Kevin Jonas up in the bleachers somewhere. Probably most surprising to me was Keith Urban. I’ve never been to a country concert before, but he disappeared from the stage at one point and magically appeared in THE MIDDLE OF THE CROWD shredding his guitar and converting every single person in there into a country music fan. Props to you Mr. Urban. I get why Nicole Kidman is married to you.

*Keith Urban – Country Artist / Magician

Finally, Pitbull, or MR.WORLDWIDE came on stage and threw the most explosive performance wrought with dancers, confetti, exaggerated hip thrusts and over the top amazingness. (Is that a word?)   Thanks so much to the folks over at Plenti and Amex for throwing this amazing concert!

And just to let you guys know..Plenti is a new loyalty program from Amex. It combines major brands like AT&T, Exxon, Macy’s, Rite Aid, Enterprise Rent – A Car and Hulu so that when you shop from any of these brands you can combine all your points into one place. That’s practical thinking! If you’re interested take a look at the new Plenti Credit Card from Amex by clicking here.

All funds raised will go to Kelsey Hopkins, the organizer, for APL Cheeseburger Day & Supplies.

More about this campaign

Lita’s 2nd Birthday is July 15th. All she wants for her birthday is to help the dogs at The Animal Protection League of Indiana. She would like to ask all of our friends to help us raise money to do something special for the dogs of the APL by buying an “END BSL” shirt of Lita, Stache or Hagan (@thepittiebunch).  On Lita’s birthday, we will have a huge bash at the APL and bring cheeseburgers and supplies to all the animals, spreading the birthday joy! The dogs at APL have never had a cheeseburger day before. They get so excited over a cheap little dog treat, can you imagine how happy they would be if they each got their own cheeseburger?!
