    NYC – Bumble and Bumble

One of the first stops in NYC we went to was Bumble and Bumble in the Meatpacking District.  A leader in hair care products and clever packaging and marketing – it was a privilege to get to see into their world. But first, we got breakfast.

I love this ‘try me’ bar!
be passionate, be all about it. Go big or go home.

    NYC – Givaudan

I am on the FIDM Beauty Tour and we went to visit several amazing beauty HQ’s in NYC this week. So far, we have had action packed days and the adventure never stops.  One of the favorite places we went to visit is Givaudan – the #1 smell and taste labs in the world.

There are about 350 ‘noses’ in the whole world that create, smell and evaluate scents – 150 of them work at Givaudan. They go to into the Amazon on blimps to capture scents of exotic flowers, tree sap and red ginger.  O_O Beats the cubicle right?

“In order to forget, you must remember something new”
They gave us an amazing TRENDS presentation and we talked about blogs, inspiration, art, culture and OMG smells.  I want to work here!
Fragrance world is so amazing and believe it or not Givaudan has created all of my favorite perfumes. Dior J’adore, Ed Hardy, Harajuku, Polo Black, Marc Jacobs Lola, JLo Glow to name a few.
From designing the bottle, to packaging, to marketing, to creating those ‘new memories’ and shaping culture..Talk about a dream job. Please please please Givaudan, let me into your mystical world!

    80%20 Shoes

Hello from sunny Los Angeles! I went shopping yesterday at the Beverly Center and these lemon yellow wedges caught my eye! They were in LA’s hottest shoe store Eilatan. They come in navy blue, orange, beige and yellow. They are under $150! You can get them on Zappos or at 8020nyc.com. Eilatan is a dope store, they carry L.A.M.B and other crazy sky high heels you would never find unless you were a real shoe lover. You should check out their blog too. Here are some of my faves, lol all of them.

What do you think? Should I get them?

So I did a little digging and found out they are from NYC. The concept behind 80%20 came from owner and designer Ce Ce Chin’s observation that we tend to wear our favorite 20% of our wardrobe 80% of the time. Aspiring to be part of the 20% you can’t live without, 80%20 shoes are created with fun-loving fashion and comfort in mind. After cutting her teeth designing for powerhouses like Calvin Klein, Michael Kors and DKNY, in 2004 Chin jumped out on her own to design her own perfect shoe. Since the beginning, 80%20 has been featured in many notable publications and stocked in stores all over the world.

Seamless bras, hidden wedges, invisi-line – What next?

    The love story unfolds…
“Miss Green Tea Leaf and Mr. Black Tea Leaf locked eyes at a tea garden in Camelliatown. While being harvested they struck up a conversation and began their romantic courtship later that evening during a drying session. One month later, on a fragrant Spring morning, the city of Camelliatown felt more alive than usual, it was the season of love. Miss Green Tea Leaf was awakened by a knock at her door, only to discover…” (read more)
