@NapoleonPerdis Takes Mascara to the Next Level

Australian makeup master Napoleon Perdis is taking lashes to new lengths with the launch of Magnif-Eyes.  This new mascara comes in a slim tube with a super bushy brush.  A+ for mascara and super smooth for application.

Napoleon says: “Magnify your lashes to the max!”

New year, new mascara! When it comes to lashes, there’s little doubt that bigger is better. In addition to providing a fluttery frame for the eyes, lashes give structure to the entire face, regardless of the makeup statement. “I wanted to add another option to my mascara stable”, explains Napoleon. “Magnif-Eyes is a very sophisticated yet fragrance-free formula that conditions the lashes and really defines the eyes thanks to the super-skinny brush.”

Magnif-Eyes boasts superior lengthening, lifting, and strengthening superpowers to truly put lashes in the spotlight. Magnif-Eyes treats eyes to a collagen-charged, long-wear formula with a support crew of triglyceride, high-tech polymers and ultra-soft waxes for maximum strength, flexibility and glide. The cutting-edge formula is fragrance free, making it suitable for sensitive eyes. As any mascara maven knows, the brush is the key to a smooth application that delivers high impact lashes, and the superfine Magnif-Eyes spiral brush works wonders with a wrap-around effect, carefully coating and defining each and every lash. Don’t forget to do as Napoleon does and apply your mascara first!

    Check out the final look!

PRO TIP: For a full upper lash line, start in the center of your lash line and brush up. Sweep outward on the outer and inner lashes to create a fanned effect.

    Off Duty with @NapoleonPerdis

During the summer, my go-to foundation has been this very sheer moisturizer from Napoleon Perdis.

Named Off Duty – this tinted moisturizer is just perfect and fitting for my summer. I have been really taking it easy, travelling and enjoying m new apartment in Brooklyn and living life.  I have been wearing the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse for the last 5 years but I have switched. The coverage is sheer and beautiful and I can’t ask for more from this triple threat.

The coverage is sheer but radiant and beautiful. I am sooooo happy I am using this!

When I wear this, Tai says, my oh my, your make up looks good. And he says, throw everything else away and just use this one!  He said when you run out I’ll buy you more. Now isn’t that a nice boyfriend 🙂

$42.00NAPOLEON SAYS: “Cheat a natural glow with this triple-duty tinted moisturizer.”

Introducing our lightest, some might say loveliest, makeup base yet.

Off Duty Tinted Moisturizer gives a hint of colour for those days when you don’t want to wear foundation. Three skin-flattering hues combine to release a lightweight skin tint for a low-key, natural look.

The hydrating formula gives the skin a shot of radiance and a moisture boost thanks to Encapsulated Glacier Water, Ginkgo Biloba, Ginseng, and Green Tea Extracts, Glycerin and Chamomile.

Off Duty Tinted Moisturizer can also be worn as a hydrating pre-foundation base to prime and slightly tint the skin while helping your foundation to last longer. Available in two shades, Light-Medium and Medium-Dark.

My 2011 Product Faves That are Here to Stay

This past year has been quite the whirlwind. New friends, new jobs and opportunities, new adventures, new experiences.

Experiences including LOTS of beauty products. There are a few products that I’ve discovered this year or recently fell in love with in the past year. Products and brands have a permanent spot in my collection.

Napoleon Perdis – Front Row Red Lip Gloss

A long wear dark red that I’m in LOVE with. Stays put for the entire day. The formula took a little getting used to because it is a little drying but nonetheless, the color is fabulous and super flattering on many skin tones. This has been my go-to red since I got it earlier this year!

Mehron – Celebré Pro HD Make Up

Super creamy and buildable oil-free cream makeup I like to use as foundation and concealer. I swear by this stuff! It actually stays on from morning until night, even after I get off work and head out at night! Best of all, it doesn’t make me breakout!

NYX Cosmetics – Eyeshadow Base (Skintone)

SO affordable. I got my pot at IMATS in July and I’m still using it with so much left. Only think I don’t like is that since the pot is so small and narrow that I have to use a brush to apply it instead of using a clean finger straight from the jar. It’s an amazingly creamy and effective product for under $10

    Kate Somerville – ExfoliKate

Speaking as a girl with large pores that is extremely blackhead prone on my nose, this stuff is wonderful. It’s a little harsh to use all over my face but I dab some around my nose area then follow with a cooling peel off mask to fully remove all existing blackheads. Works wonders between facial treatments. Pricey but worth it!

Love these products. I’ve been using these all on a daily/regular basis for months now. Until I find other products that are just as good efficiency-wise and price-wise, I will stick with these ones! Of course there were other products I liked over the past year but these really stood out to me because I use them so much. Thanks 2011, for introducing me to them 🙂

Napoleon Perdis Boudoir Mist Spray Foundation Review

Over the summer, I had the opportunity to try @NapoleonPerdis’ Boudoir Mist Spray Foundation. I had received a gift card for the Napoleon Perdis store from IMATS and decided to redeem it with the purchase of this product. The Boudoir Foundation Mist is like getting airbrushed but from a can instead of an airbrush machine. I actually really enjoyed using this product. I’d say its a light-heavy coverage because it’s so buildable. You spray it in circular motions until you get the coverage you want. You can spray a little more on areas you want to cover more.

wearing it in this picture over summer 🙂

I abso-freaking-lutely love this product. I’m SO glad I got the opportunity to try this product… especially in the summer. When I was trying it in store, the awesome girl that helped me told me it works especially well in the summer because it’s pretty much sweatproof and that she had worn it to the beach without it coming off. I tried it when I went to a beach event and she was right. Once the mist dries on your face it pretty much stays put. I didn’t have to reapply at all throughout the day. I will say that since I’m an oily person I did apply a light layer of powder on top. She also said it works as a makeup sealer as in you can spray it over your makeup to lock it in place. I tried it once or twice and I thought of it as just a reinforcement to make sure my makeup didn’t evaporate and it definitely didn’t . These added uses aren’t listed on the product description but definitely won me over.

The downfall of this product…. It’s a whopping $49 a can. BUT compared to Dior Air Flash which is $62 a can it’s definitely cheaper. When I bought the product the girl that helped me told me that my first can would run out very quickly because it takes a few tries to get used to it and to know exactly how much to use. I still have a little bit in my can but I will say I ran out way faster than I thought I would. I don’t use it on a regular basis, only for outdoor occasions or for when I know I’m going to be in a hot environment like a club or a very populated event.

So overall, GREAT product. Steep price for my pockets but I think I would buy it again to use for those special events and occasions because it’s THAT good. For those that don’t want to invest in an actual airbrush machine but want the same results, I totally recommend giving this product a try. Actually, the price of a can compared to buying a Temptu airpod isn’t that big of a difference. For those that have been wanting to try an airbrush foundation, I would suggest this one over Dior Air Flash since this one isn’t as expensive.

As always, let me know if you’ve tried this product and your experiences 🙂

You can purchase this product along with the rest of Napoleon’s products on his website or at his stores.

    Napoleon Perdis’ Rock On Event

Yesterday afternoon, I had the pleasure of visiting with @NapoleonPerdis at his Hollywood concept store for a lovely luncheon while he and his wonderful team told us about his new ROCK ON Collection. This collection consists of a Mattifying Mineral Primer and an Advanced Mineral Makeup with SPF 15.

The Mattifying Mineral Primer is something completely new to me. Its a translucent powder that can be used as a primer BEFORE applying the liquid mineral foundation and AFTER to set the liquid. SUPER COOL RIGHT? The powder gives you a a great canvas to prep the face with and gives you a flawless airbrushed look after. It’s also rich in antioxidants like grape seed extract, white tea extract, and aloe vera which we all know is amazing for your skin! Comes in a great no mess container that I love!

The Advanced Mineral Makeup is a creamy liquid mineral-rich foundation that contains SPF 15 and is packed with  ingredients like natural bark extracts to absorb oils, sodium hyaluronate and squalane to boost collagen production and keep your skin hydrated. Its oil free and hypoallergenic, great for those with sensitive or oil-prone skin.

I think the idea of using a powder as a primer is GENIUS! The mineral powder as Napoleon said, “gives the Mineral Makeup something to stick to.” For those that are shiny/oily prone like me, I feel like using a powder as a primer gives me the reassurance that I won’t be getting shiny anytime soon instead of worry if the primer I use is going to help or make it worse! The liquid mineral makeup was really light on my skin and gave me a nice dewy look. From previous experience with mineral makeup (like Bare Minerals) I always turn out somewhat shimmery or too dewy or just not enough coverage. The foundation was very buildable and what I liked most was that it acted like a normal foundation but that its a mineral makeup which is soooo much better for your skin. The foundation with a light dusting of the Mattifying Mineral Primer before and after gave me the perfect face. Not chalky look at all. I found that throughout the day as I was wearing it, I didn’t see my makeup disappearing which happens a lot with mineral makeup I find. Staying power is a HUGE plus in my book 🙂

At the ROCK ON event Napoleon also let us play with his new Better Off Red Collection which is “A Collection that Celebrates the Classic.” Napoleon has revamped red lips with a new line of seven lip colors that come in different textures and hues. The collection consists of  a lip palette, three different lip glosses (two of which I consider more like liquid lipsticks and one self-adjusting clear gloss), three lipsticks each a different shade of red, and a red nail color called Red Corvette.

Swatched above (left to right) are: Undercover Red Lip Gloss which is the self-adjusting gloss that morphs into your own shade of red, Lady In Red which is a bright red with a satiny finish and Front Row Red which is a long-lasting, dark red color with a matte finish both of which contain nourishing ingredients for your lips!

I fell in LOVE with Front Row Red… My new fav red lip color 🙂

A quick color swatch of the Red Corvette nail color

The Better Off Red Collection will launch August 1, 2011 at Napoleon Perdis Concept Stores, Dillard’s and Von Maur department stores and www.napoleonperdis.com.

“I’ve crafted a collection of red lip shades for all skin tones and ages to prove that red can be anyone’s color – no excuses!” – Napoleon Perdis

Just a few photos from the event! Had lots of fun with the ladies of Napoleon’s team 🙂
