@ObeyClothing Fall/Winter 2014 Preview
Up until recently I’ve always thought that Obey Clothing was just menswear, and was pleasantly surprised when I attended the Obey Fall/Winter 2014 Media Preview and found that they have an extensive offering of womenswear. If it hadn’t been for my phone dying right when I got to the event, I would have flooded the world of social media with loads of Instagram pics and tweets of all the awesome pieces that were on display! Floral jackets and duffle bags, the softest (and cutest) tees and crop tops, printed shift dresses and drop crotch pants and of course classic Obey hoodies, crew necks, and accessories. I even found myself lusting after several pieces in the mens collection!

Stylin’ in all kinds of ways at @LotusLeafStyle #pressdays
We hung out at the Lotus Leaf semi-annual Press Days event this past week, and got to see the fall/winter 2014 collections from some of our favourite brands, all while enjoying delicious treats and drinks! Check out some of my favourite pieces from the brands that were featured below. I warn you, I kind of went crazy in the Dr. Martens section, there were just too many great shoes, and I need all of them!
You may have many reasons to wear a dress. The question is, does your dress have many reasons to be worn? Buying a ball gown, for example, is great if you attend a lot of black tie events, but what if you want a dress that will not be buried in your closet most of the year? A midi dress, which is a dress long enough to extend beyond your knees without touching the ground, can often work as semi-formal wear and double as a casual outfit for friendly gatherings. Just make sure the dress you choose compliments your body. For example, a waistline tied with a sash and some high heels can help you look taller. A longer midi dress with no heels is better when you are tall and want to draw attention away from your height.

The PERFECT fit with @hudsonjeans
You know those girls that always look great in their jeans? I always wondered where they bought their jeans, because I have searched high and low, and I can’t seem to find jeans that are the right wash, and have the perfect fit. No that’s a lie, I’ve found jeans that have come close to having that perfect fit, however they cost an arm and leg, and that just ain’t happening. So like many girls who aren’t willing to break the bank for those “perfect” jeans, and have had enough of that gaping problem that most jeans have when they fit everywhere else perfectly but are too big on your waist; I settled for boyfriend jeans and stopped looking… And then I discovered Hudson Jeans.

I was invited to attend a preview of Hudson Jeans’ Fall/Winter 2014, and let me tell you, I was not expecting to fall in love, or find myself lusting over several pairs of jeans. By the time I left, I was ready to throw out all my boyfriend jeans and replace them with several pairs of Hudson Jeans. How can I be sure that they have the perfect fit? Because there were several women of all shapes, sizes and heights rocking Hudson Jeans and they all fit perfectly! And they’re totally affordable; all the pieces I loved were no more than $200 a pair. That still might be a little pricey but it’s way better than spending rent money on a perfect pair of jeans. SOLD.

Event LOVE: @ThinkReese 2014 Collection Preview
We were invited to an Exclusive Preview of the REESE 2014 collection on Thursday. If you’ve seen any of Reese’s pieces then you know we were in for quite a treat- from sexy and unique bathing suits, to beautiful cultured pieces, and pretty printed dresses; this was gonna be good! I was especially looking forward to seeing the “Tourist-Oviya” piece and almost lost my mind when I did, because it’s just as beautiful in person as it looks in the online store! I need it in my life like yesterday!!

The Great Exploration: @Muttonhead_Co AW13

Muttonhead recently revealed their A/W13 collection and I’m loving it. After taking a look at it, I’m all kinds of mad all over again for missing their pop-up shops/sales last year ( I was out of town. It won’t happen again) For those who are unfamiliar with Muttonhead, it’s a unisex, sportswear line ethically manufactured right here in Toronto, and it’s dope!
I’m normally pretty colourful and girly when I dress, but I have my days where I just wanna keep it simple and chill in something comfy, but still look good, and if it’s made in Canada, even better! This is wear Muttonhead comes in. I love how everything is so well made, the hoodies are EVERYTHING, loves the crew-necks, feeling the accessories, and the best part is that it’s unisex, so I can rock the entire collection!
I’m more of a fedora kinda girl, but I’d totally do it!
