    SOOS Rocks Jewelry

Toronto-based accessory line, SOOS Rocks Jewelry has just launched their newest jewellery collection for women, L’Amour – inspired by timeless romance, the power of friendship, and real-life fairy tales.  Timed to coincide with Valentine’s Day, the collection is not just for your sweetheart, but are gifts for everyone in your life who mean something special to you.  “We wanted to create a collection that transcends Valentine’s Day and captures the authenticity of love,” says co-owner/designer Jane Dallin.

Before creating the collection, the SOOS Rocks design team of Dallin and Bryn Nihillasked themselves what their definition of love was: “Love is said to be the emotion of strong affection and personal attachment. In philosophical context, love is a virtue representing all of human kindness, compassion, and affection,” explains Dallin on their consensus.

The collection of necklaces, bracelets and earrings feature various keepsake pieces, including keys, lockets, and heart-shaped gem stones. It is currently available online at soosrocks.com and will be available in boutiques as of February 1, 2011.  Prices range from $22.00 – $45.00 CDN.

    Cloud and Soft Gems

Once in a while, there will be pieces of jewelry that takes your breath away and makes you think of 2D and 3D materials in an entirely different way. This is exactly what Industrial Designer Jahyun Rita Baek did with her jewelry pieces. Nothing of her collection was flashy, gaudy or blinged out. It was actually quite the opposite – It was muted, translucent, light and ethereal.  The real magic of her pieces is that they make you very curious. Take a look and see what I mean.

The mesh pearls are out of this world.

    Rebel Designs

Gina Riley is the designer behind Rebel Designs, a New York based accessories line. The pieces are leather, classic and timeless.  What do you think?

Rebel Designs is the brainchild of designer and sole proprietor Gina Riley. Growing up in Battle Creek, Michigan, Gina was always fascinated by fashion and was thrilled to have the chance to carve out her own niche in the “big apple”. The heart of New York City is where her business remains today. Her designs incorporate semi-precious stones and Swarovski crystal in antique brass. The resulting look meets in a beautiful balance between costume and estate jewelry, making a statement which belies the age in which it was created. This jewelry will leave you looking like the bell of the ball, however its everyday application is well suited for the fun and funky, calling on the rebel within.
