Florida “Dadpreneur” Showing Product at New York Baby Show

While there is nothing like the Beebo on the market today, it is something almost every new parent has dreamed about. I don’t know a parent who hasn’t tried the bottle under the chin maneuver because we dropped the remote or needed to answer the phone.

    image016

And that’s how Florida resident Martin Hill got the idea. The thought came to him with his first child, now six-years-old. But after re-living the same problems during the multiple daily feedings with his son, now four, the former electrical engineer set to his garage to create a solution because he couldn’t find one that already existed.

He even made his first prototype by carving through foam and searching for the perfect BlackBerry belt clip case to rotate the Beebo as needed.

The Beebo is designed for left or right hand users and the bottle holder is soft and flexible to fit the majority of bottles on the market. At first, it was Martin’s way of multi-tasking, then it turned into a way to spend quality time with his son by reading to him while he was feeding him.

    Droidles on Kickstarter @LittleDroidles

Sometimes the craziest sounding ideas are actually genius. That’s what you get from Droidles a new little colony of robots that can be easily programmed to do a large number of things. Then, they can share those things with other Droidles in robot to robot interactions and across the Droidles own social network. Really, this is for real and it’s actually amazing.

At first glance Droidles are just little pancake sized robots. They move about the floor, carry a tune and do whatever they are programmed to do by their owner utilizing an Android or iOS app.

The “owner” learns the steps to programming without needing to know any real programming. Sure the Droidles are an interactive robotic toy but they’re also an opportunity to explore the creativity of a person of any age.

What makes these cute little robots even more exciting is the fact that there are three ways they learn; from programming from their mobile app, from each other and from the Droidles website which is a social network of sorts.

Droidles project manage and lead developer Jay Hurley says that each and every Droidle gets their own web page just like we have our own Facebook page. Programs that you teach your Droidle can be shared with the community of Droidles. Have you taught your Droidle a new action, it can be posted to the web page and other Droidles will be able to do that action as well. The same goes for songs, movements and anything the Droidles are programmed to do.

Every Droidle’s web page is identified by their serial number, and obviously the earlier you secure a Droidle the shorter the url for your own Droidle will be. You can get in on the action here at Kickstarter!

With a big push for STEM and STEAM in schools these days we’ve covered a lot of robots and robotic kits but so far haven’t found any as compact, yet as robust a platform as Droidles.

You can see everything the Droidles team hopes to accomplish here. and pre-order your numbered Droidles here.

Sure Robots are a lot of fun and robotics kits from a variety of sources are making their way into classrooms across the globe. Naturally when teachers, parents and even students think about robots they think STEM and that’s great but now there are new robots in town that go beyond STEM.

Meet Droidles, Little robots that are fun to put together, program and then socialize.

Droidles are cute little robots with personalities, and more:

Pocket sized little Droidles that can wander around, make friends, and learn on their own.

Free mobile apps to program and remote control Droidles wirelessly using your Bluetooth 4.0 smart phone or tablet.

Each Droidle has their own web page at droidles.com, just like people use Facebook!

    Close Shave with @HeadBlade

Men shave their heads for many reasons – Sports like MMA, everyday convenience, hair loss or personal style.

Either way, I think it’s really sexy!  Bald men that can pull off this look often turns heads and the lack of hair emphasizes their features like their eyes and smile.  I am a big fan. I recently had a friend stay over and he has shaved his head for the last few years. What I didn’t know is that he has to shave his head almost every 3-4 days! Check out the pic of Nick with hair and Nick without 🙂

Headblade has a great product that can make his weekly routine much easier. Headblade was founded in 1999 by Todd Greene, and the original HeadBlade Classic is featured in the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art.

    Classic Headblade (image via Wikipedia)

Todd launched a few other models of the razor shortly thereafter, but nothing like the new ATX All Terrain Razor—it’s been three years in the making and is the most innovative design since the original HeadBlade Classic! Looks like a little Tonka truck to me. Very cool!

    (MSRP: $15.00 at www.headblade.com)

The ATX All Terrain Razor utilizes HeadBlade‘ s patented finger ring and car-like suspension, but the new design now has the blade suspended in the back by a unique spring action device, reducing any learning curve and virtually eliminating the chance of nicks or cuts. This new configuration also allows the ATX All Terrain Razor to be used as a multipurpose shaver, suitable for the face, body and legs. It also features HeadBlade’s most advanced blade offering yet: the HB4 Blade Cartridge, with improved blade quality, new open back architecture and flow thru design that allows for easy rinsing.

They also just launched new 5 oz. bottles of their HeadSlick shaving cream, HeadShed exfoliator and HeadLube moisturizer!

A regular razor is like a rake and the Headblade is like a car. How cool 🙂

    20 Second Solution @ReStringIt

Gadgets are awesome!  I got the Restring It package last week and put it to the test. Lucky for me, I had a pair of sweatpants that always loses the drawstring in the wash.

This tool has and end to grab the string and a long flexible body and then another long needle at the other end. Works like  a charm is and is the newest member of my laundry room staples!

It is being called “the best thing since the dawn of the safety pin.” Re-String It solves drawstring woes in seconds. It is available for under $15 online on their website, Amazon, in over 360 “Play It Again Sports” stores, and now QVC just picked it up for their Sprout Campaign in September.  It was recently featured on a television newscast in the Carolinas in a segment called “Why Didn’t I Think of That!”

    Your new favorite Drink! @SpindriftFresh

Spindrift is the first soda made with fresh squeezed juice. Light, bright and super FRESH, our soda tastes unbelievable, ridiculous and sensational.

Last week I got 6 bottles and I was so excited to try it!

I have never really been a big fan of soda because of the carbonation but Spindrift is lightly carbonated and doesn’t make you burp like crazy. The tiny bubbles dance on your tongue and make the drink really refreshing and delicious to drink.

Spindrift Soda, a new all-natural fresh squeezed soda. Basically Spindrift is the “anti-soda” soda. It’s made entirely from fresh squeezed fruit (pulp and all) with carbonated triple filtered water and cane sugar and delivered alongside fresh produce.

For more on the production process of Spindrift please see the following link.
