Event LOVE: Private Dinner @MichaelsOnSimcoe #michaelseoe
***DISCLAIMER*** You’re going to need a bib, a napkin, maybe even a towel before, during and after this, because it’s about to get real tasty around here!!
We were invited to attend the media launch of Michael’s on Simcoe, a modern Italian Steakhouse that playfully combines the best in contemporary cuisine, located in the heart of the Financial and Entertainment Districts of downtown Toronto . I didn’t understand what they meant when they said that it was Toronto’s best kept secret, but by the time I had a bite of my first appetizer, I knew exactly why!
They promised us an evening of elegance and I can honestly say that they delivered on that promise and more! The event was supposed to start at 7:30pm, but they decided to spoil us even more and invited select media to a private dinner hosted by Moët & Chandon before the actual dinner! I can’t describe how fast I got dressed just so I could get there already.
We were greeted with a tall, crisp glass of champagne and then led to the bar area where we were showered (yes that’s what it felt like)… we were showered with all kinds of delicious appetizers and of course more champagne. We hadn’t even sat down at the table and I was already getting full, but I wore a loose dress just so I could taste and savour everything that they had to offer! So now, enough talking. Sit back, relax (don’t forget your bib, if you haven’t started drooling already 🙂 ) and enjoy!
…when you have to take a #selfie because you need to show much you’re really enjoying the food, but you’re so full and you won’t stop, and even though you’re not smiling, your eyes show just how HAPPY you are! Yes. 
There was so much wine throughout the evening, and not one empty glass!

So what are my thoughts on Michael’s On Simcoe? I think I’ve already made it pretty clear that the food was fantastic! If I were to give my overall experience a rating out of 10, I would give them a 10. The wines were perfectly paired throughout our meal, and the staff? The staff took service to a whole new level, they knew the menu and their wines inside out, they were super attentive, friendly without being invasive, and accommodated every single request. Top notch service. Would I recommend it? Well if I have to recommend it after these pictures then I’m not sure you deserve all that goodness! I kid, Of Course you should go. You have to go.

Event LOVE: Oh Hey Versay! – #VersayOnTap Launch @GroupeVersay
If you follow me on Twitter, Instagram and/or Facebook, you would’ve seen that I was having soooo much fun at the Versay On Tap wine event last night. It was a packed house over at Rock Lobster over on Ossington Avenue, as we celebrated the VIP launch of Versay wine, Ontario’s first wine on tap. The evening featured 8 different types of Versay wines on tap (I tried them all, they were all wonderful!), as well as (too die for) seafood appetizers from Rock Lobster. The event was FAN-TASTIC! The wine was so good; it was easy to drink, and tasted really good.

I guess a lot of us think that wine won’t be as good if it comes in anything other than a bottle, but I was pleasantly surprised. The wine was great; I’m not expert, but I’ve had some really expensive wines and dare I say the Versay wines were better? Yes.
My favourite wines of the evening were the:
- Bieler Pere et Fils Cuvee Stellie Rose 2012, Coteaux D’aix En Provence, France
- Gazerra, Pinot Grigio 2012, Sicily
- Mamma Mia Chardonnay Grechetto 2010, Umbria, Italy
And the food… lawd the food was paired perfectly! Don’t even get me started on the jerk shrimp and lobster rolls… HEAVENLY. My favourite thing about serving wine of tap, is that it’s environmentally friendly; there is no waste, so the stainless steel kegs are all reusable!

Event LOVE: #MsFab DJ JJ McKenzie Web Relaunch Party @jjisjeni
Drive time “Diva” host JJ Mckenize recently relaunched her new website, and we all gathered at the Proof Vodka Bar to congratulate and celebrate with her. We drank cocktails, snacked on hors d’oeuvres, while some got their make-up done over at the beauty bar, and others got their portraits done during the live art show by Beckie DiLeo Ross. At the end of the night, Ben Stevenson treated us to a live performance, and I think it’s fair to say that I wasn’t the only one getting chills while he sang! Damn.
