    October is #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 1 in 8 women the U.S and 1 in 9 in Canada will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. It’s a terrible disease that affects the lives of those diagnosed, as well as their friends and families. This is the month that we really shine a light on breast cancer, the survivors, fighters, and victims, and the life-saving research that is taking place to fight it.

Companies across the country are donating proceeds from the purchase certain products toward breast cancer research. I wanted to highlight some of my favorite products:

Riedel Stemless Wine Glasses: 15% of all proceeds from these glasses to the support of breast cancer survivors

essie Breast Cancer Color Collection: A portion of the proceeds from the essie breast cancer awareness collection will be donated to Living Beyond Breast Cancer

Ellie Shoes: 100% of proceeds will be donated to National Breast Cancer Coalition

The North Face – The North Face will make an annual donation to  Boarding For Breast Cancer, a non-profit, education awareness foundation, to help support their journey to educate and inspire young adults

Movado Watch: Special Edition Breast Cancer Research Foundation – Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Graphic Tee from Footlocker – $5 goes to the American Cancer Society

Bicycle Playing Cards – $.15 from each deck of cards will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Cuisinart Pink Series Blender  – By purchasing  you are helping to fund the Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Betsey Johnson “I’m a Survivor” Charm Bracelet – A portion of the proceeds are donated to Fashion Targets Breast Cancer

Supporting companies that donate proceeds from the purchase of their products to various breast cancer organizations is a great way to help the cause. A more direct way to get involved is to join one of the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks that are going on around the country (U.S.) throughout the month of October.

I will be walking in the  Making Strides walk at Jones Beach on Long Island, NY  on October 21. I’d love your support in my effort to raise funds for the walk. Please visit my Making Strides homepage if you’d like to donate (and share with a friend!).

Event LOVE: @Burgundy_Brick Build the Future Benefit

I went to the Burgundy Brick Foundation’s 5th “Build the Future” benefit this past Saturday. It was super refreshing to be at an event that was strictly for a good cause, and I was honoured and proud to be supporting the Burgundy Brick Foundation team in their efforts to break the cycle of poverty and to change the community. A lot of us get caught up in our own lives, and struggles (which is understandable cause life can get real tricky), and forget that there’s other people out there that don’t even have a place to call home, so it was good to take a few moments out of my own life and support a cause that looks to improve the lives and quality of living for other members of our community.

So glad this was up, cause I had no idea where I was going… I suck with directions whatever 🙂

So good catching up with Karim!

fell IN LOVE with this jumpsuit…

This was ONLY upstairs, downstairs was even more PACKED!

    boppin’ 🙂

    well done ladies 🙂

The music was good, food was yummy, there were LOTS of people, and Mira was an absolute sweetheart of a host 🙂 Thank you so much to the Burgundy Brick Foundation team for inviting me, and congratulations on a successful event. Wishing you all the best now and in the future!

    peace and love

“one brick at a time, we can change the city we live in by helping the people who live in it”- BBF

I’m really excited to be attending the Burgundy Brick Foundation‘s “Build the Future” benefit tonight. This is my first “Build the Future” benefit, and I’m honoured to be able to join the BBF team on their continued mission to promote homeownership in order to help break the cycle of poverty. The “Build the Future” benefit has supported Habitat for Humanity for the last 5 years, and has already raised over $175,000!!

About the Burgundy Brick Foundation (BBF):

The Burgundy Brick Foundation was established in 2007 by a young group who collectively believed that they could make a difference within Toronto and the GTA’s affordable housing community.

    About Habitat for Humanity (HFHT):

    Puppy Fund!

As most of you know, I love my dog Jacob more than a fat kid loves cake.  I have been looking for a friend for him and I think I found her!  She is a 6 week old Shar Pei.  Shar Pei’s were once used at guard dogs in China and are known for their wrinkly faces, fierce loyalty and snobbery. Perfect!
So I have 2 weeks to come up with $750 to get her.. If you want to donate to the cause Please click donate ->!
