The Lunar New Year was already over, and there were many festivities held during the early this month! LULU celebrated the season with an unforgettable concert held by Xi’an Famous Foods, one of the most popular food in New York, that artfully blended the Asian and Asian American experience – with delicious food, drinks, and great music at one of the city’s most iconic music venues, that night was a one of a kind experience.

Held at Manhattan’s mega concert venue Terminal 5 on last Saturday, February 20th, enjoy performances from:

Far East Movement – the first Asian American group to top Billboard’s Top 100, they requireno introduction

Kina Grannis – the Japanese American YouTube star whose crooning voice took her from YouTube to mainstream fame

Kimberley 陳芳語 – the Taiwanese Australian singer whose song “Love You” rocketed her to success in Taiwan and beyond

Softlipa 蛋堡 – the Taiwanese rapper whose Mandarin beats have garnered critical acclaim

Xi’an Famous Foods began as a 200 square foot basement stall in the Golden Shopping Mall in Flushing, N.Y. The original location, established in late 2005, was the first restaurant to bring the little-known cuisine of Xi’an to the United States, with signature hand-ripped noodles, secret spice mixes, and Xi’an “burgers” with housemade flatbread. Since then, they’ve expanded to six locations in Manhattan, two in Brooklyn and two in Queens in total. As a family-owned business, they hope to reintroduce the world to the unique cuisine of their hometown: liangpi “cold skin” noodles, lamb pao mo soup, and wide hand-pulled “biang biang” noodles, all in its most authentic form.
