Say I Love You in 4 Ways

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and nothing can really top last year’s… when I got engaged on the Brooklyn Bridge Park. It was freezing but it couldn’t be more perfect!  Being married almost a year now, I have learned how to say I love you without saying it.  Spice up your life with traditional and nouveau ways to show your partner they are special!

    1. The Naked Heart by CARR Candle

    carr

Scent is closely tied to memory and you can perfectly embed yourself into your lover’s subconscious by buying him a candle. A memorable one, not one from the supermarket for air freshening!  I love candles but my husband LOVES candles and has introduced me to brands like Red Flower, Tocca and Diptyque. With premium candles, you only have to burn them for 20 mins and the scent lingers in your house for the entire day. Your favorite scents also come in minis so you can… travel with them! And make any hotel room smell just like home. A great candle will have a medium cotton wick that does not burn high or fast. It also does not leave a ton of smoke when you snuff it out. A beautiful candle will change your whole room, apartment, relationship and taste level.

    2. Piper-Heidsieck Rosé Sauvage

    BOUQUET-I

In 1785, legend has it that, Florens-Louis Heidsieck was invited to personally present a bottle of one of his champagnes to Queen Marie Antoinette. In 1960, Marilyn Monroe famously declared that she went to bed each night with a drop of perfume and woke up each morning with a glass of Piper-Heidsieck. Today, the champagne’s character remains worthy of a queen, and, with its eye-catching pink label and unique box, is perfect for Valentine’s Day 2014. Specially packaged for Valentine’s Day in a lenticular-printed box featuring cascading rose petals, just like a bouquet of roses, the Champagne’s notes of black cherry, black currant, pink grapefruit and blood orange are offset by a lingering, spice-tinged finish.  Nothing says celebration the way Champagne does!  Don’t save the good stuff for an apology or after a screw up. Celebrate that fact you found each out.  I will definitely break out our wedding crystal champagne flutes for this!

    3. iPhone 5C from Verizon5c

Communication is key!  So many times, calls get dropped, reception is bad, battery dies and camera memory is full. It sucks and since my hubby and I are both overdue for a new phone, our iPhone 4’s are just not cutting it anymore.  I recently got to test out the iPhone 5C from Verizon and love it. The speed of download, responsively, the longer screen, the lighter phone – all contribute to better communication, better mood and of course more talk time.  The Verizon 5C is colorful and fun and an easy present for Valentine’s Day.

    4. Aglit Italy Lux Lambskin Laces

Upgrade your laces and do a his and hers 🙂  Lambskin laces will make any of your sneakers super luxe.

Event LOVE: Private Dinner @MichaelsOnSimcoe #michaelseoe

***DISCLAIMER*** You’re going to need a bib, a napkin, maybe even a towel before, during and after this, because it’s about to get real tasty around here!!

    MICHAELS ON SIMCOE

We were invited to attend the media launch of Michael’s on Simcoe, a modern Italian Steakhouse that playfully combines the best in contemporary cuisine, located in the heart of the Financial and Entertainment Districts of downtown Toronto . I didn’t understand what they meant when they said that it was Toronto’s best kept secret, but by the time I had a bite of my first appetizer, I knew exactly why!

    MICHAELS ON SIMCOE

They promised us an evening of elegance and I can honestly say that they delivered on that promise and more! The event was supposed to start at 7:30pm, but they decided to spoil us even more and invited select media to a private dinner hosted by Moët & Chandon before the actual dinner! I can’t describe how fast I got dressed just so I could get there already.

    MICHAELS ON SIMCOE

We were greeted with a tall, crisp glass of champagne and then led to the bar area where we were showered (yes that’s what it felt like)… we were showered with all kinds of delicious appetizers and of course more champagne. We hadn’t even sat down at the table and I was already getting full, but I wore a loose dress just so I could taste and savour everything that they had to offer! So now, enough talking. Sit back, relax (don’t forget your bib, if you haven’t started drooling already 🙂 ) and enjoy!

…when you have to take a #selfie because you need to show much you’re really enjoying the food, but you’re so full and you won’t stop, and even though you’re not smiling, your eyes show just how HAPPY you are! Yes.

So what are my thoughts on Michael’s On Simcoe? I think I’ve already made it pretty clear that the food was fantastic! If I were to give my overall experience a rating out of 10, I would give them a 10. The wines were perfectly paired throughout our meal, and the staff? The staff took service to a whole new level, they knew the menu and their wines inside out, they were super attentive, friendly without being invasive, and accommodated every single request. Top notch service. Would I recommend it? Well if I have to recommend it after these pictures then I’m not sure you deserve all that goodness! I kid, Of Course you should go. You have to go.

Thank you so much to the Michael’s on Simcoe team for a truly amazing and elegant evening, and to Meg and the EPR team; THANK YOU for always taking such good care of us 🙂 xo

    Cheers!

    Chic Way to "Pop Champagne!"

“They feel light and delicate in hand, but stand up well to frequent toasts and celebrations.”
I’m loving the Veuve Clicquot in the background!! mmmmm

You see a lot of artists popping Champagne in the videos, and in Toronto “poppin bottles” is almost mandatory for some party-goers… and I’m not talking about Grey Goose or Rum lmao.
There are also some people, that like to pop a bottle of Champagne in the privacy of their own homes; whether they’re entertaining or simply because it’s Tuesday 🙂
For all you Champagne lovers, I bring you the Venetian-Style Champagne Flutes: each flute “has it’s own charming personality (Just like your guests) in elegant stripes, dots and swirls”. I love it!
These beauties come in a set of six and are dishwasher safe.
Perfect for any Champagne lover, or as a christmas gift!
    Get em here!
