Year in Review 2016: Focus and Manifest
Jan: Year started off with my Mother in Law visiting! I’m working part time at a dating company and part time at Samsung’s NY Flagship store. My soaps launch at Story this month. Ricky comes to NY for his research project at Sloan Kettering!
Feb:
My soaps are in Soho’s 3NY and PIQ this month. I am working at the dating company as their Social Media Director and I quit Samsung!
March:
This was a quiet month for me, the last month working at the dating company and attending a few blog events.
April:
Head to Toronto for Roslyn’s Baby Shower and I start working at Bella PR again!
May:
I attend the Makeup Show, Panda comes to visit and I go to Iowa for the first time this month and we visit Chicago!
June:
We start sewing class at Mood, we go to San Francisco for Ford’s Conference and I go to Bark Box Puppy Prom with Jacob. I turn 31 and Jacob turns 10 this month. We decide that we are going to leave NYC and move somewhere else.
July:
My soaps get into the Brooklyn Museum! I also create custom soaps for Pivot TV. Shannae comes to NY to visit this month and we do Desksides for Come Clean.
August:
My dad comes to visit to this month! Soaps get featured on Complex and online sales go haywire. We decide to move to Vegas
September:
Nolan comes to visit and my soaps go to Japan! Over 30 stores in Japan now carry my soaps. My dad comes back from Calgary and watches Jacob while Tai and I fly to Vegas to sign our new lease. My mom comes to help us pack up the house and we celebrate Tai’s 36th birthday in the Village.
October:
Jacob and I fly to Vegas and Tai flies to Iowa to pick up his mom’s car. Soaps are in Colette! We settle in Vegas and experience B12 IV service at the MGM Hotel.
November:
I head to New York for the Purina Pet Conference this month and Crystal comes to visit. She celebrates her birthday at Tao.
December:
My mom comes to visit and Jacob gets bit at the dog park. He needs stitches and dental cleaning. My grandma has a stroke and I have to head back to Toronto with my mom. When I came back, Jacob was in bad shape and started to have kidney failure.
This year was about manifesting my dreams of having a beauty product of my own. Come Clean Soap became a reality in our tiny Soho apartment. We closed off the year in Vegas, the biggest gamble of all. Against all odds, you should always Bet on Yourself. – here comes 2016.

New Survey Stats: What Women Want in 2015
This report uncovers how women are feeling about everything from personal/family finances to life goals and their top worries. This survey was conducted by SheSpeaks, the leading women’s influencer platform, and Lippe Taylor, a leading integrated marketing communications agency that specializes in motivating women to buy.
1. 2015 Is The Year of Health: There are a lot items women want to accomplish in 2015, and getting healthy (68%) remains a top priority, followed by moving to a new home or remodeling a current one (42%) and making a positive impact on their community (36%).
2. Women’s Biggest Woes: Between family, friends and work, women juggle a lot, which means there’s a lot weighing on their mind. In 2015, health care (29%) continues to be a top concern among women, followed by worries over racial tension (20%) and job security (15%).
3. Going for the Green: 89% of women think their financial situation will stay the same or get better
4. Optimism in the New Year: 64% of women say they’re optimistic about the New Year
5. Tough it Out: 10% predict 2015 will be a tough year
6. Fit Bod: 27% women would rather lose weight than have an extra vacation (20%), a raise (12%) or an extra hour a day (7%)
7. Moving to Mobile: As we learned this year with lower-than-projected sales on Black Friday, shopping on-the-go is quickly catching up with, if not overtaking traditional points of sale as consumers increasingly turn to mobile shopping to save time and money. 20% of women say they’ll make MORE purchases on their mobile phones in 2015, up 4% from 2014.
8. Fashion, Beauty and Music Take Priority: Among the top purchases they plan to make on their phone in the coming year, clothing (30%), beauty products (29%) and downloadable music (28%) were at the top of the list.9. I See London; I see France: When it comes to disposable income, 28% of women surveyed would spend it on travel
10. Maintaining the Balance: 64% of women are optimistic as they head into 2015, and to maintain that state of mind, they plan to spend time with family (73%) and do little things for themselves (72%). 50% just want more quiet/meditation time

Year in Review 2015: Dreaming to Reality
I woke up excited for the last day of 2014. I am ready to say goodbye to this year and I did my best to Shock myself! It has been a great year, one of growth and surprises. Back in Soho mean lots of time to do fun things and less time on the train. Reconnected with a ton of friends and got used to loft living.
Jan
This year started off with a bang! We went down to Chinatown to celebrate the year of the horse. I continue to work with the handbag company in HK as a freelancer. We moved to our loft and I am so happy! Being in Noho is awesome and made me fall in love with New York again.
Feb
This month was awesome! 1st year wedding anniversary and fun events all month long! Even though Feb is always a short month, I manage to pack in plenty of events!
March
All I did in March was have fun! I finally finished my contract with the bag company and all I wanted a a break! I went to the Aglit Italy pop up shop and read a lot of book. I start doing a few part time jobs and I seriously think about what I want to do and who I am. What a crazy! Just 3 months til 30 yrs old. eeek!
April
I finally am done with the bag company and I feel free! I am ready for my next adventure and the best way to start of my spring was with a talk from Apple about #girlboss. The owner and founder of Nasty Girl spoke with confidence, humor and hope to all wannabe girl bosses in the audience and created a whirlwind of ideas and inspiration. I am so renewed, refreshed and ready!
May
I met Aimee Song another #Girlboss for sure! It was fun and inspiring to meet the one and only Song of Style. We talked about trends, Youtube and this whole style blogger phenomenon and then things we loved and hated about the industry. This was a good month for learning and letting my brain be truly creative. It was at the end of this month that I first created my doggy glycerin soap Come Clean!
June
Birthday! For my 30th birthday, all I wanted was a baked Alaska. This month was all about events, automotive, beauty and fashion… After a bunch of wasted time with long interviews with different PR companies, I decide to take matters into my own hands and officially launched Come Clean! We had some much fun at the NJ Woofstock which gave me a ton of confidence to go forward with my own ideas.
July
Summer was wedding season! Headed to Toronto for the wedding of the year for Shannae and Sean’s wedding at the Collingwood Ski Resort. We also took the time to go to Wonderland before the wedding and enjoyed summer in TO! Come Clean starts gaining momentum is in 3 stores yay! Toronto this month (Groomery and K9 Couture) and New York (DoggyStyle).
August
I was invited to partake in a beauty workshop with Sturm und Drang for a new shampoo product – this time in NYC. It was at the Soho Soleil. My university roommate came for a visit and I also went on my first New York cruise. I saw Lady Liberty close up and enjoyed a weird cruise lunch and warm champagne too. I went to NJ to visit friends who had a new baby name Emily Grace! What a cutie.
Sept
Fashion Week with Cynthia Rowley! I organized a great blogger event for this designer and had the chance to meet 8 top notch fashion designers. It was fun and intense month working with this New York Designer. Their show was at the Swiss Institute in Soho and it went off without a hitch! I also went to see the Mara Hoffman show too. This month I also certified for Level 1 Reiki and met up with some FIDM Alumnis at AquaGrill for some awesome seafood too! I also started working with the Asian Dating company East Meet East as their social media content creator. I also send 100 pcs of Come Clean to TIFF to be in the Style Gift Lounge.

We got to watch Indy for a few days! Jacob definitely loves being an only child. For Halloween, Jacob dressed up as Christian Grey from 50 Shades. Come Clean gets into 3 more stores and featured in various blog and even Lucky Magazine!Nov
Celebrated Thanksgiving with Tai going to Germany to work with Strum und Drang to work on another beauty and trends project. I start working at the Samsung Studio part time and make 20 new friends… And I also went to go to Calgary to visit my sis and her family! My nephews are soooo adorable and Lake Louise and Banff is picturesque and stunning in person. Even in the cold winter!
Dec
I am working on Come Clean a lot and I am in Singapore, Canada, US! Isn’t that awesome! With a huge Christmas rush and tons of love, I conclude the year with 10 stores that carry us and over 500 transactions. With 2 more stores, Caesar’s Palace in Vegas and Orlando’s University City Walk… 2015 is going to be an amazing year I am so proud of myself and I really shocked myself. I look forward to January and pushing Come Clean full steam ahead!!
