    Past (Love) Future (Love)

“If I am a reflection of him
    Then I must be fly

    His love keeps me mesmerized
While riding the waves of cloud 9
    Continuously on a high
    If I close my eyes
I can still feel his fingers gently tracing the curve of my spine
As he kisses the nape of my neck
    While our lips connect
    And tongues tie”

This is from my girl Pauleanna‘s collection of poety and freestyle. Check out her blog here.

There is this guy. Isn’t there always? But this one is different and he’s been on my mind for a minute. A part of me has instant flash backs to ‘He’s Just Not that Into You’ and a part of me still yearns for a future with him. Sometimes, people are hard to read. I know a lot of you would disagree and say, if he likes you, he’d be with you. But I think it’s more complicated than that. Especially when you have a tendency to magnify the ‘what ifs’ and lose sight of what is. How many chances do you give a person? How long do you keep that window of opportunity open? To what extent are games necessary to GET him? The more I am writing this post the more apparent it is to me that I should just let it go. My friend Valentine has on his profile: “I left the love of my life for the love of MY life.” I keep thinking about that and wonder if for some reason at this point in my life I am suppose to be single. You can make choices easier that way I guess when you just have to worry about one. This is going to me my last 3 months in Toronto. I wonder how what lies ahead for me compares to what lies within.

    Fruit Smiles

OMG YUM. Something to share from my go-to recipe site. KRAFT!

Take 1-1/2 cups boiling water and 1-1/2 cups cold water and mix & match your recipe from these options…

CUT 1 melon (3-1/2 to 4 lb.) in half lengthwise; remove and discard seeds. Scoop out melon, leaving each half with a 1-inch-thick shell. Chop removed melon; drain well. Cut thin slice off bottom of each melon shell to allow it to stand upright.

STIR 1-1/2 cups boiling water into 2 pkg. (85 g each) Jell-O Jelly Powder in large bowl at least 2 min. until completely dissolved. Stir in 1-1/2 cups cold water. Add 1/2 cup of the reserved chopped melon and 1/2 cup fruit to jelly mixture.

FILL melon shells with jelly mixture. Pour any remaining jelly into small bowl to enjoy later. Refrigerate 4 hours or until firm. Cut each melon half into four wedges to serve.

    Moisturizers

Our skin go through so much drama and the water we drink does not help hydrate our skin. You have to moisturize! Here are my recommendations:

GM COLLIN OXYGEN PURACTIVE+ TREATING LOTION
Alcohol and fragrance-free lotion. With seven plant extracts and 100% natural ingredients, purifies detoxifies, and soothes the skin. Evens the complexion for a smooth and matte finish. Helps maximize skin care benefits.

The thing I love the most about this is the atomizer (spray!) and the fact that it’s fast and great for wearing under makeup and when you are on the go. G.M. Collin was founded in France in 1957 by a dermatologist. Since 1990’s they have been in Montreal. I received this as a gift but I am sure you can find out where to buy it here. http://www.gmcollin.com

Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer
Two is better than one. This unique moisturizer combines an oil-free formula with a proven acne-fighting ingredient. It works to moisturize dry patches and flakiness while treating and helping to prevent breakouts. It won’t clog pores and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth.

I have used this product since high school days and it has kept my skin happy. This is an easy buy at the drug store and has always worked the best for me. Besides the occasional hormonal induced blemish, I’m pretty much always ‘clear’.

Garnier Skin Naturals Fresh Day Cream

This is my staple moisturizer for the summer. Smells fresh and is one of my favorites! I really love this entire line really.

    Juliette

German Sheppard x Labrador Retriever Puppies (Brampton, Ontario)

Juliette and her siblings were born on January 13/2009. These little ones were surrendered to the pound because by the time they were four weeks old, their Mom did not want to care for them anymore. They ended up at the pound and were placed in a foster home. They are now 6 weeks old and are very playful and healthy puppies. They are well socialized and love attention. They will be a great addition to the right family.

    LG Denim DIY

LG sponsored a denim design competition for designers under 25 yrs old in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. How come no one heard about this contest?? And why is there only 60 in the Facebook group?? Yikes…Maybe HighRoad Communications should have hit up social media consultants like myself next time. It’s a shame really cuz the prizes are pretty wicked.

LG Denim DIY is a dynamic, interactive design contest open to Canadian “Under 25” designers, sponsored by LG Electronics Canada.

The premise is simple: create an original pair of jeans that are fun, funky and “runway ready”.

All design submissions will be featured in one of three regional competitions that will take place in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Each submission will be modelled as part of a runway fashion show and judged by a panel of fashion industry VIPs. A winner will be selected from each of these three cities and will be flown to Toronto for a final contest announcement, where LG Electronics will crown Canada’s top “Under 25” denim designer.

The LG Denim DIY contest winner will receive:
    • $5,000 fashion endowment from LG Electronics Canada
    • All three regional winners will win a trip to Toronto for the event finals
    • Winners from the two other regional competitions will receive an LG LCD television

    Why enter?
    • Pitch designs to fashion experts and network with industry VIPs
    • Mesh with the manufacturing side of the business and the process of bringing new fashion designs to market,
    • Work under tight budget and time deadlines
    • Exposure to Canadian fashion media (cross-Canada PR campaign will be engaged around the contest) and potential for gratis publicity and press coverage

The fashion show will feature all submitted designs and models galore, outfitted in the jeans and strutting their collective stuff on the runway. A panel of industry experts will choose a top design and the grand prize winner will then move to the national finals in mid-March, with the chance to win a $5,000 fashion endowment from LG.

    Date: Tuesday, March 3, 2009
    Time: 12:30pm
Location: Sears Eaton Centre, Street Level – North Entrance (290 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON)

We’ll have a ton of student designers onsite from schools such as George Brown College, Humber College and Ryerson University, available to discuss their denim creations and the challenges of being a young designer breaking into the industry.
