art & eden launches brand new collab with Animal Planet

Last month, art & eden celebrated its 2nd birthday with the launch of its new collab with Animal Planet (subsidiary of Discovery), debuting boys’ and girls’ clothes featuring endangered species that benefit Project CAT, an organization which serves to protect tigers in the wild. The new art & eden x Animal Planet collection is available on Nordstrom.com, Kidbox, and at www.artandeden.com. There is both a boy and girls collection for children 6 months – 10 years old, and price points fall between $30-$42 USD.

art & eden is a sustainable cotton kids’ clothing brand. This collection will feature vibrant images of animals that are in vital need of protection and conservation, such as tigers, elephants, sharks and whales. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the line will go to ProjectCAT, Discovery’s ongoing initiative with the World Wildlife Fund dedicated to ensuring a healthy habitat for future generations of tigers.

Created sustainably and packaged in recycled materials, the Animal Planet x art & eden collection will feature more than 40 exclusive designs including shirts, dresses, skirts and shorts, all made  of organic cotton and low-‐ impact dyes. The marketing campaign supporting the apparel collection will spotlight the unique combined mission of protecting endangered animals while also emboldening children to create a planet they are proud of.

Carolann Dunn, Vice President, Consumer Products Licensing at Discovery, said, “The collaboration with art & eden will not only feature beautiful aesthetics and quality eco-‐friendly materials, but it’s a true celebration of wildlife. Animal Planet’s mission is to keep the childhood joy and wonder of animals alive by bringing people closer in every way; and this new fashion collection is a great way for our littlest fans to both enjoy and show their support of wildlife and nature.”

Susan Correa, Founder & C.E.O of art & eden, expressed much joy as she said, ”We checked yet another box of a dream coming to fruition in our serendipity filled journey, when we signed the collaboration between art & eden and Animal Planet. At art & eden, our attention has always been captured by the beauty of biological diversity and our artists have done a terrific job of converting biota as it walks, flies, roars, barks, crawls, swims, swoops & buzzes on our fabric. We recognize that while animal, aquatic and aerial life has movement -‐ extinction is mute and silent, and it has no voice but our own.

The animals we so enjoy today – could well be in the history books of tomorrow’s children. We are thrilled that through this partnership, we can bring awareness to the beauty of life in our world and collectively we can seek progress by responsible interaction with the diversity that surrounds us.”

The new apparel line will continue the overall effort of ProjectCAT, Discovery Communications’ ongoing initiative with the World Wildlife Fund dedicated to ensuring a healthy habitat for future generations of tigers. The partnership raises awareness for the endangered species and provides a portion of proceeds to Project CAT in support of a global effort to double the number of tigers in the wild by 2022.
