Give Warmth and Give Back with Ecuadane!

There’s a certain warmth about the holidays … not the fireplace, but the feeling in our hearts, especially when you give a gift that’s meaningful and helps others.

Everything about Ecuadane brand fits that bill. Their beautiful handcrafted goods are one-of-a-kind special gifts in and of themselves, but they also make the world a better place by giving back. From their signature alpaca-blend blankets to their scarves and Ponchos.

The three young sisters who founded this conscious brand search for unique, quality treasures that celebrate native cultures and traditions. This company is truly capturing the spirit of the holidays by giving back to the Ecuadorian community they work with. Ecuadane is donating 50% of their sales from their website to build homes for five families in Ecuador, where a majority of Ecuadane‘s products are crafted.

This holiday give the gift of Ecuadane and feel the warmth of doing something special for those you love while helping others!

ABOUT ECUADANE:

The name Ecuadane is a combination of Ecuador and Denmark. The 3 young founders chose it to honor the countries where their parents were born. The Lund sisters love being together, discover cultures, traditions and wonders of the world. They started Ecuadane to be able to introduce others to the hidden treasures of little-known places. Ecuadane gives a substantial portion of its proceeds to charities.

THE STORY BEHIND ECUADANE

People meet and sweet music ensues, or so the saying goes. In our case, it became more than that. After visiting the village of Otavalo in Ecuador where our three daughters and we were spellbound by the delectable textiles made by the local Otavaleños we decided to found our company Ecuadane. The name symbolizes our Ecuadorian (Catalina) and Danish (Nicolai) backgrounds.

The desire to share the unique, hand-weaved products with the rest of the world was great, but we also saw it as an interesting opportunity to combine the traditional South American design with the simple Nordic style. It was also crucial that all production should have the greatest respect for the environment and that all textiles should consist mainly of recycled textile fibres.

A dream has been realized and today Ecuadane can offer the quality-minded and environmentally conscious consumer a range of sustainable, but also delectable and soft blankets and ponchos – and we plan to add more products. Today, Ecuadane is a family-run business with our three daughters at the helm. We are grateful for the chance to share the products of the Otavaleños with the rest of the world, which is why we have decided to give back. Therefore, we are donating 5-10% of our profits to Ecuador and various humanitarian efforts such as children’s hospitals, schools etc.
