Serendipitous Perfume

Legendary restaurant, Serendipity 3 – the world’s only restaurant to have their own signature perfume, Serendipitous!

14901.jpgSerendipity 3, the home of the famous Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, has been on the cutting edge of food, fashion and fun for 63 years.  Owner/founder Stephen Bruce, is the central creative force behind the restaurant and general store, and continues to reinvent a whimsical world full of outrageous food, decadent desserts, and outlandish merchandise, such as the chocolate perfumed Serendipitous.

Serendipitous, a scrumptious, luscious, irresistible fragrance that is as comforting as cocoa, as tempting as a Grand Marnier truffle, as decadent as hot fudge by the spoonful.  A lovely, wearable chocolate with hints of Tahitian vanilla and blood orange, Serendipitous has been captivating the world since its inception, over a decade ago.

Serendipity 3 is the world’s only restaurant to launch a major fragrance.  The scent is available at boutiques, and at Serendipity3.com and LuckyScent.com.

Eat it, drink it, wear it!

Fabula Nebulae Celebrates Online Shop’s Two-Year Anniversary, Launches Maine Gift Box of Sought-After Natural Skincare Products

A “love letter to Maine” is what Fabula Nebulae (www.fabneb.com) calls its new Maine gift box — a collection of popular, all-natural products that has something for just about everyone. The release of the gift box also coincides with the online shop’s second anniversary. A woman-owned family business dedicated to providing consumers with safe, natural, handcrafted and unique skincare products, Fabula Nebulae has already cultivated a loyal following across the U.S. and Canada.  “After using them personally and having friends and family test them, we are convinced that these are natural, nourishing skin balms of superior quality,” – Beth Santmyire-Rosenberger, MD PhD, Board Certified dermatologist.

The Maine gift box is a decorative birch wood box in the shape of the Pine Tree State, and evocative of its blueberry hills and rocky coastline. Each gift box contains the following items:

  • Bath Soak with Maine sea salt
  • Gentle Face Wash with milk and blueberries
  • Honey and Herb lip butter
  • Salve to Quiet the Storm
  • Desert Rain hydrating skin salve
  • Natural unscented candle
  • Kitchen and Garden hand scrub
  • Calming lavender sugar scrub
  • Muscle and Joint soother

Since opening for business in August 2015, Fabula Nebulae has shipped over 6,000 products and built relationships with over a dozen retailers. The Grapefruit and Ginger lip butter was recently named a finalist in the CertClean Clean Beauty Awards. Customer comments and reviews have been equally enthusiastic on their website and on Amazon.com, with Fabula Nebulae earning 99% 5-star reviews.

“This lip balm is incredible,” raves Morgan. “It got me through winter and is incredibly moisturizing. It also smells wonderful, but then I love the smell of citrus (mine is in grapefruit), and it has a glossy finish to it so it’s like two products in one.”

Fabula Nebulae believes strongly in giving back and helping make the world a better place; to that end, the company contributes to the mission of Bee Informed Partnership, a nonprofit organization working to find causes and solutions for bee population issues. The company is a member of “Maine Made: America’s Best,” an association celebrating and promoting the state’s tradition of superior craftsmanship, as well as the Handcrafted Soap and Cosmetic Guild.

Looking ahead, Fabula Nebulae plans to move to a larger space by year’s end. The company also looks to hire its first part-time employees. Several new products are now in development that will likely be released by early 2018. These products include a magnesium-based deodorant for highly sensitive skin, a tattoo salve, and an anti-chafing balm. A more long-term objective for Fabula Nebulae is FDA approval of the new facility, which would enable development of a wider range of all-natural products.

Ready for a Screen-Free Summer? Level up your Game with the PinBox 3000

The best memories of summer are made in the backyard, the garage, the basement. This is where the freedom from the school year can manifest into making things. Two Vermont educators and artists tapped into their love of tactile building and created the ultimate project to while away the summer break. Move over lemonade stand, the PinBox 3000 is poised to become the ultimate summertime craft and engineering project.

The PinBox 3000 is a build-it-yourself, made in the USA, cardboard tabletop pinball machine kit with interchangeable, customizable, play surfaces. It is not just a product, but a path toward unplugged gaming, crafting and making that the whole family can enjoy.

How does it work?

Step 1: The PinBox 3000 arrives at your doorstep unassembled in twelve punch-out sheets of sturdy corrugated board. Assembly requires one hour of folding and slotting the 39 parts together.

Step 2: Two flipper decks allow you to customize two interchangeable games, so bring out the glue and scissors! Electronics can also integrate with the PinBox 3000, if you’ve got a knack for LED, sensors, or microprocessors like Arduino.

Step 3: Flip out with your custom-made PinBox 3000! You can even link two games back-to-back and share in a two-player Battlemode!

Summer camps across the country are already using the PinBox 3000 to launch the next generation of pinball game designers, merging STEM with art and design. There’s plenty of summertime to dive deep into experimentation, crafting, painting, and playing DIY pinball.

Two entrepreneurs, puppeteers and gamers in Burlington, Vermont believe that pinball has to be accessible for the next generation. Pete Talbot and Ben T. Matchstick, professors of Cardboard Teck Instantute, hope to “Tilt the Future” with makers of all ages to unlock the tactile engagement of pinball game design. Upload your designs to social media. #PinBox3000 to see all the designs on Instagram! In addition to assembly videos, the Cardboard Teck YouTube channel offers tips and tricks for any adventurous designer.

Unplug the screens! Summer’s here and the time is right for crafting custom pinball games. With the help of Cardboard Teck Instantute, its easy and fun to build your own gaming device, while also creating timeless memories of “the summer we rocked our own PinBox 3000 cardboard art-cade”.

About the Exhibition:

Agora Gallery presents Enigmatic Visions, a new collective exhibition that is singular in its attention to the subtlety that can be found in contemporary art. While many equate progress with simply making the next piece bigger and louder, that is not the beginning and end of the state of today’s art landscape. Though the eleven artists on display in Enigmatic Visions come from all corners of the globe, each brings out the magic in more modest concerns.

This shared interest in the small scale can manifest in many different ways. It can be a study of physically empty places: flat, rocky plains or the lonely, mysterious seas. It can be zooming in on a single object for an updated take on the still life. This is a recurring motif in the exhibition, from a series of austere black-and-white photos of flower blossoms to intensely focused images of the body in motion. It can even be a small psychological space, such as the depiction of a single figure or an isolated group of people.

Enigmatic Visions opens July 28 and runs through August 17, 2017 with an opening reception Thursday, August 3 from 6 – 8 pm. Entrance is free.

Thoughtfully designed for the activity and motion of a busy child, each Little Goodall piece is handmade with the highest quality and attention to detail so the outfits will last for years to come.

The Little Goodall collection is hand-sewn in Texas in limited quantities, so you’ll receive a unique garment you won’t likely see another child wearing at the park or pool.

The collection includes outfits for boys and girls including bonnets, dresses, rompers and more. All Little Goodall pieces can be mixed and matched:

–Delight those you love with the Ruffle Bonnets in the sweetest pastel spring prints. Made with the soft, airy feel of Liberty of London cotton lawn and adorable ruffled edges and tassel ties, these bonnets create a truly charming look while keeping youngsters protected from the sun.

–Effortlessly dress your little one in Bubble Rompers with a clever inner liner that keeps the perfect pouf shape no matter how active your little sunseeker. Shoulder ties are accentuated with signature bell tassels, and delightful prints match the bonnets.

Handcrafted in sewing rooms that have been producing fine women’s garments in the US for over 20 years, the same classic tailoring techniques used on the finest women’s blouses — including deep hems, covered buttons, and bias ruffles — are applied to the children’s styles. Little Goodall’s collection is classic and made to last.

The imported Liberty London Cotton Lawn is the finest, smoothest, lightest, natural fabric for summer, in the loveliest tiny prints which delight and not overwhelm.

About Little Goodall

Little Goodall is created by artist and designer Molly Goodall. While a stay-at-home mother, Goodall was frustrated when her two-year old son refused to wear the hoods on his coats. Searching for a creative solution, she designed and made the original Ferocious Felt Lion coat to inspire him to put his hood up in the cold. Friends commented, orders were placed, and Little Goodall was born!  Molly is also the author of the creative sewing book Wild Things to Sew and Wear, published in the fall of 2014.
