    Resuscitate Your Hair

5 quick steps to help resuscitate their hair to its proper glory

Screen Shot 2014-06-19 at 4.30.10 PM

    • Step #1: Protect & Reconstruct. The heat can be very drying to the scalp. Incorporating a soap and alkali-free shampoo into your daily regimen can help to stabilize hair structure, as well as treat sensitive and delicate scalp conditions. Sebamed Scalp Activating Shampoo is a pH balanced wash that naturally supports scalp circulation – which is essential for hair growth and thicker-looking hair. ($14.99, SebamedUSA.com)

    • Step #2: Targeted Treatment. Applying heat or using chemical products are habits that we all find hard to kick, but with the humidity at an all time high during the summer, so is hair breakage. To restore and nourish hair to its proper glory, apply a deep conditioning treatment formulated with coconut oil, as these are rich in fats that are attracted to hair proteins, 1-2 times per week. Apply at the crown of the head to the tips (hair generally isn’t dry at the roots).

    • Step #3: Add Life To Your Color. The pool feels great on hot days, but chlorine is destructive to our hair, especially if it’s chemically treated, as it can strip the hair of its natural color. To restore your hair color, we recommend heading to the salon for a gloss or glaze treatment every 3 to 4 months. They are less costly and will restore the tone of your original hue while adding shine.

    • Step #4: Shield from Harmful Rays. Sun exposure not only does number on your skin, it can ravage your hair too! As you head outside, toss on a hat or scarf and opt for styling products that can withstand rays with UV protection.

    • Step #5: Promote New Growth. Dry hair is cause of those dreadful split ends. Try trimming your hair every 6 weeks and incorporating an all-natural supplement into your routine to stimulate new growth.  Aviva Hair Revitalizer is a proprietary dual complex that works with your hair’s natural cycle to rejuvenate and improve the health of hair follicles deep below the surface for stronger, thicker, and more beautiful looking hair. Aviva hair growth vitamins help support hair structure and encourages new, emerging hair. ($59.95 for a 30 day supply, AvivaHair.com)

Beauty and the Geek – Fashionable Google Glass

Next Monday, Diane Von Furstenburg is set to launch her fashion-forward collaboration with Google Glass, just ahead of the Google I/O Developer conference. This designer partnership begs the question – is Google Glass getting trendier to make the wearable technology more “wearable?”

Techies rejoiced at the initial launch of Google Glass and this move could be a push to get fashionistas to look at the technology as a must-have accessory. It’s fashion meeting function, perfect for capturing life’s biggest moments in style. Arguably, no moment in life is bigger than a wedding day, a fete that also happens to be a veritable fashion show. As DVF models wore Google Glass down the runway, would brides want this technology parading down the aisle on their big day?

According to the David’s Bridal “What’s on Brides’ Minds” survey, the answer is yes. When asked if they’d like Google Glass to capture the moment at their ceremony and reception, 81 percent of brides said yes. Who would they most like equipped with the technology?

    • 43 percent said the wedding guests
    • 40 percent said the wedding party
    • 31 percent said their significant other
    • 29 percent wanted to wear it themselves
    • And 23 percent said the officiant

*Respondents were able to choose multiple people

With Google Glass expanding its reach with designer partnerships like this, this could be the next social media trend at weddings and beyond. Thought this information might work in any pieces you might be working on surrounding Google, the DVF partnership or wedding season in general, or could be a fun social media post surrounding the upcoming week of tech news.
