David’s Bridal Inspiration for Fall Brides!

Following Kim and Kanye’s wedding, everyone is talking about the brunette bride’s fashion choices for the weekend’s events.  Whether it was the short, detailed dress she wore for her bachelorette dinner or her wedding gown with illusion-lace sleeves, brides and fashionistas around the world will be taking cues from her style this wedding season.

    image002

In their recently unveiled Fall 2014 Collection, the designers at David’s Bridal incorporated several of these trends including the use of romantic lace, opulent pearl embellishments and illusions sleeves.  Kim incorporated all of these into her wedding styles, and for brides wishing to use her looks for inspiration, David’s Bridal has several cost-effective options available.

    image005

    • Kim’s bellissimo bridal dresses:

o   Brides who desire a soft, romantic look like the gown Kim wore walking down the aisle will find several beautiful options from David’s Bridal Fall 2014 collection that feature intricate lace details, illusion sleeves and pearl beading.

o   For her reception, we know Kim changed into a “little white dress” –  a popular trend for the coming season.  Whether a bride is looking for a second dress to wear to her reception and dance the night away, or needs a more casual style for a destination or courthouse wedding, options from David’s Bridal range from the simple to the opulent.

Those in wedding parties or attending a wedding this coming season can also enjoy some of the trends from the wedding.  Whether it was outfitting the bridal party in white or the dark hues worn by the guests, the Kardashian-West affair was nothing less than fashion-forward.

    image004

    • Koordinating Kardashians: Kim’s wedding was a family affair, with her four sisters serving as her bridesmaids.  Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie all wore floor length white and ivory gowns, while mom Kris wore a white Mother of the Bride dress.

o   Modern brides are growing increasingly comfortable coordinating the color of their bridesmaids’ dresses with their own wedding gown – as fashionably done by Kate and Pippa Middleton or Poppy and Cara Delevingne.

    • Walk on the dark side:  from the couple’s best friends to other celebrated attendees, the darker color palette was prevalent throughout Kim and Kanye’s wedding weekend.

As predicted in the Fall 2014 Collection from David’s Bridal, navy is the new black.  Whether attending a black tie affair or looking for a fun cocktail dress, darker colored hues will be prevalent this season.  Add in a touch of lace, colored beading or illusion sleeves for a chic and sophisticated look.

As a passionate supporter of environmental education, Jack Johnson has proven to be the ideal collaborative partner. 100% of the proceeds from the “Jack Johnson by Feelgoodz” collection will benefit the Kokua Hawaii Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Johnson which supports environmental education in the schools and communities of his native Hawaii. Available in limited quantities, only 2,500 of each style are being produced.

    Jack Johnson by Feelgoodz Collection:
Kinderz: This flip-flop, or “slipper” as they call them in Hawaii, is Jack Johnson’s favorite style and the ones he personally wears. Made of natural products including a veggie-tanned leather upper with natural Vietnamese rubber midsole and outsole. The colors selected are a throwback to the original release of this style; it is comfortable, soft, has arch support and the footbed is molded to a podiatrist’s specifications. Available for Men in Sizes: 9-10, 10-11.5, 11.5-13. (MSRP: $49.99)
The Jack Johnson by Feelgoodz Collection is available in late spring for purchase on the Feelgoodz website, Jack Johnson’s website, as well as on Jack Johnson’s North American tour.

    About Feelgoodz:
Feelgoodz was founded by Kyle Berner while backpacking through Thailand. After the flip-flops he was wearing one night broke, he began his search for a new pair. He came across a pair hanging from an interesting display and found them to be the most comfortable pair of shoes he had ever worn. Made from natural rubber, the flip-flops proved to be both comfortable and sustainable. The idea of producing these particular shoes drove him to create Feelgoodz in New Orleans in 2008. In 2012, the company relocated to Raleigh, NC where Feelgoodz continues to support farmers and artisan cooperatives around the world. Please visit www.feelgoodz.com for more information.

Fuss-free and silky smooth with @Veet Natural Inspirations

    IMG_2669

I received an awesome package full of Veet goodies last week, and with summer well on it’s a way (a girl can dream), I couldn’t think of a better time to receive them! Veet recently released their Veet Natural Inspirations line and I couldn’t wait to try it. They also have a facial hair removal cream, which I think is AWESOME, cause sometimes I can’t always make it to the salon to get the necessities done, so if I can do it by myself in-between waxes/threads, that’s even better!

    IMG_2706

Pros: So far I’ve only used the Hair Removal Cream which is enriched with Grape Seed and Avocado oil. It left my skin feeling silky smooth and I didn’t have to use it again for another 3 weeks! It’s quick, easy and painless so for all my ladies who like to be silky smooth without the pain of waxing and/or threading, problem solved! Practically odourless: I usually stay away from hair removal creams as they have a strong odour, but Veet really came through with this Naturals line, you can barely smell it: I have super sensitive skin, and normally have an immediate eczema flare up after using hair removal products, but so far so very GOOD!

Cons: So far I’ve only used the hair removal cream on my legs, and I haven’t had any negative side effects.

@Stonyfield Yogurt Pouches for Your BITTY!

Stonyfield, the world’s leading organic yogurt maker, today announces a new partnership with Happy Family, the brand that revolutionized the baby food industry with the introduction of pouch packaging to replace glass jars. Stonyfield’s popular yogurts for babies, toddlers and kids, now available in convenient pouches, will be co-branded with Happy Family this summer. The brands make this joint announcement as they debut the full line at Expo West, the country’s leading natural and organic trade show.

This is the first co-branded collaboration of this type for both brands, marrying the leader in organic yogurt with a leader in organic baby food. “Stonyfield and Happy Family share the core belief that organic food made without the use of toxic persistent pesticides and GMOs is the very best for little ones.  It’s truly exciting to work together to offer the very best in infant and toddler nutrition that also makes life a little easier for parents,” said Gary Hirshberg, Chairman and co-founder of Stonyfield Organic.

“Stonyfield & Happy Family yogurt pouches offer a convenient and portable option for busy families looking for delicious fruit and vegetable combinations their kids love and that also deliver the organic promise parents trust,” continued Shazi Visram, founder, CEO and Chief Mom of Happy Family. “We’re thrilled to be able to offer parents even more options for healthy products made with optimum nutrition.”

Not only is yogurt delicious, but it helps kids grow into the best, strongest, healthiest grownups they can be. “Yogurt is a perfect, nutrient-dense food that can grow with your baby from a first food to a healthy lunchbox snack. I always recommend choosing an organic option and Stonyfield’s YoBaby, YoTot and YoKids yogurt pouches are wonderful sources of protein, balanced fats, carbohydrates, and minerals to aid growth and development,” explained Dr. Bill Sears, one of America’s most trusted pediatricians.

Studies also suggest that organic whole milk provides even more nutritional benefits when compared to conventional milk. Organic whole milk – and products made with it like Stonyfield YoBaby and YoTot yogurt pouches – have a far better concentration of the essential fatty acids (Omega-3s) that can support brain and heart health1.

About The Stonyfield & Happy Family Yogurt Pouch Line
