Although GOING GREEN is an ongoing commitment, Earth Day is a great time to recognize those dedicated to making a conscious effort to drive awareness and participation towards the cause!
This Thursday, April 17th from 11am – 3pm EILEEN FISHER will offer a #THISISECO pop-up experience at The Shops at Columbus Circle showcasing their eco-collection and sustainability initiatives, including the Green Eileen recycled clothing program that reduces environmental impact by selling gently worn EILEEN FISHER clothing.
At 6pm, EILEEN FISHER will host a reading by Sass Brown, Acting Assistant Dean at F.I.T., as she discusses her new book Refashioned: Cutting Edge Clothing from Upcycled Materials. Guests are encouraged to bring their own items to participate in an upcycling workshop following the reading, where designers Zaida Adriana Goveo Balmaseda and Karina Kallio will teach participants to make yarn out of old tees, and transform button-downs into children’s clothing and patchwork pouches.
There also will be a number of interactive displays & samples on the second floor of The Shops by retailers including Aveda,L’Occitane en Provence, Microsoft, O&Co., Satya Jewelry and Whole Foods Market, as well as other area partners from 11am-3pm.
