Coming Up: @VillageVoice #BKPour Craft Beer Fest

Wow, time flies. It’s already time for Village Voice’s Brooklyn Pour! I covered it last year and had a ball while tantalizing my taste buds and learning a ton about beer. It literally changed my life (as related to beer).

Before Brooklyn Pour
Me: I’ll take a Corona with a lime

After Brooklyn Pour
Me: What kind of IPA (that’s Indian Pale Ale) do you have…or maybe I’ll go for a Belgian wheat ale…

In case you don’t know what BK Pour is all about, it’s a craft beer festival featuring 60 brewers with over 100 beers to taste. It’s held at the historic, and absolutely breathtaking Hanson Place in downtown  Brooklyn. This year, BK Pour will give attendees the opportunity to amp up their beer knowledge while they sip, offering three Beer Talks and Demos per session–because knowing about what you’re drinking is way sexier than ignorant consumption.

There will also be an outdoor food court with delicious eats that will make you wish you had an extra stomach on hand!

BK Pour isn’t only about the booze, though–proceeds from the event are going to BK Pour’s charitable partner, Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition (BARC), a nonprofit organization looking to provide a safe haven for abandoned animals and to find permanent loving homes for them.

VIP tickets for Session 1 have already sold out and I’m sure the remaining tickets will be gone soon, so don’t procrastinate if you want to attend!

See you there!

I love to buy fragrances and I love how a certain smell can relate to you. I definitely am open to trying new ones too so I was glad to have the opportunity to check out several, delicious mists by Calgon.

Calgon Enchanted Embrace is perfect for a night on the town. It’s part of the Sensual Collection with warm vanilla, lush peony and purple passion fruit. Don’t just listen to me though, this is great for during the day as well.

I also got to try out a cute trio of mists that can make a great affordable gift. The Sensual Mist Gift Set is also part of the Sensual Collection. It includes Flirty Tease, Angelic Kiss, and Femme Inferno.

Flirty Tease has a mix of sparkling red currant, orange blossom, and exotic Egyptian jasmine. Angelic Kiss is a creamy blend of golden bergamot, mandarin zest with an oriental floral heart. Last but not least, Femme Inferno is described as having an elixir of pink pepper, vivid bergamot and lily of the valley. These three are Calgon’s best-selling fragrances so it’s definitely worth trying.

Get @KimKardashian’s Gorgeous Hair!

Kim Kardashian famously changes up her hair on a regular basis, swapping out one style for the next faster than style bloggers can keep up with. Her deep, rich hair looks so healthy and is styled so flawlessly that Kim is an inspiration to many women. If you lust after Kim K. hair, clip in hair extensions could help you try out her signature styles. These extensions are super easy to use, so you don’t have to spend hour in front of the mirror and they’re secure enough to last all night.

Kim’s styles begin with her gorgeous dark chocolate brown hair, which may tempt you to turn to the dye bottle to copycat. Even if you choose not to dye your own tresses, you can still get a similar feel in your own natural color.

Kim’s Waves

Start with wet hair, then air dry it overnight while you sleep. This gives you some slight natural curl to start with, plus it’s easier to curl hair that dried naturally than hair that was blown dry. Apply a heat protectant or some argan oil to your locks to protect them while you curl so they’ll shine like Kim’s. Using a curling iron, wrap one or two inch sections around the barrel in a spiral fashion to achieve a Kim-like curl. Once those curls cool, spritz on a bit of hairspray to hold them. Wear your locks down or style them in a classic Kardashian-style half-updo.

Elegant Updo

Kim also goes in for elegant updos when she needs to look chic on the red carpet. If you don’t have a lot of length, look for clip-in hair extensions in the same shade as your real hair. Human hair extensions are a must if you want to copy Kim’s style. Kim often wears ringlets of hair around her face to frame her features and accentuate her makeup, so leave a little hair loose on either side of your face. Attach the hair extension using the clips, then pull up into a knot, bun or French twist–three of Kim’s fave updos. For a twist, braid the hair before pinning it up.

Kim Kardashian is a true style icon, not least because she’s unafraid to shake up her look and try on new trends. When it comes to hair, what other celeb styles are you loving right now?

Polish Yourself for Autumn with @EssieNailPolish

My favorite season, Autumn, is just around the corner. Not only do I love the crisp smell of the air and the sound of crunchy leaves, but I absolutely just adore the colors. Darker colors like deep reds and plums, forest greens, deep blues, and dramtic greys start appearing on not only clothes, but on finger nails aswell. For those of you who arent into those colors Autumn makes room for deeper pinks and nudes and beiges(it’s a happy medium).

These are some of my favorite Nail Polishes by Essie for this season upcoming season. Try some of them out and let me know what you think. You can find similar colors from other brands, but these are just some of my favorites

All of these colors can be found at Essie’s Company Webiste. On the website they can be purchased for $8.00 but you can check discount beauty supply stores like Sally’s, Ulta, and Harmon. You may even be able to find them on sale at a local convenient/drugstore. All of these colors are really pretty and would look great on any skin tone.

I cant wait for Fall!!!!
