Green time with @Sproutwatches

Sprout Watches is doing something no watch company has ever done!  They have created fun and fashionable accessories that are made of 80% bio degradable materials including: corn resin case & buckle, organic cotton strap, bamboo dial, mineral crystal lens and mercury free battery!  They are based in NYC and have a huge range of eco-friendly watches that range from sporty, fun, cute to work friendly. They are for both green loving men and women.

Our friends at Sprout recently sent me the ST/5504GMGN watch below and I was blown away by the materials used to make it without sacrificing any fashionable style component! The conflict free diamonds add a bit of glitz to the organic cotton band. The corn resin watch and buckle are easy to close and sturdy. The mother of pearl face makes it oh-so-pretty!

  • Large scale green mother-of-pearl face with silver-colored Arabic numerals and indexes; 8 have conflict-free diamond accents
  • Silver-colored hands with sweep second hand
  • Light green organic cotton strap with matching top-stitching
  • Light green corn resin case, buckle and caseback; matching bezel
  • Silver logo
  • Mineral crystal lens
  • Mercury-free battery
  • Approx. band length: 240 mm
  • Approx. band width: 20 mm
  • Approx. case diameter: 44 mm
  • Quartz movement

I love it and will be wearing it all week for Fashion Week to make sure I am on time 🙂

This watch retails for $60 and you can get it on http://www.sproutwatches.com

Smooth Like Butter, Micron Fine Pens

As an self-taught artist I spend hours on hours in the arts and crafts section. I will literally spend two or more hours searching for the right materials needed to make what ever I concoct in my mind. Yesterday I went to Michael’s Art’s and Crafts store and bought something by mistake but actually ended up being a blessing. The Micron Fine Pen.

The Micron Pen came in a pack of six and ran me about $16.99. Though a bit pricey, I believe one should pay for quality. The mistake I made was getting the color set when I meant to get the regular black set. I love to sketch and practice all types of techniques, the right pen can make you or break you!

Ever since using the pen though I’ve had nothing but success. Of course you have to have a steady hand when drawing anything! The Micron Fine Pen makes it a whole lot easier to keep that straight line. With a point of .45mm it managed to so far create the smoothest  and crispest line I have yet to draw. The ink is also:

  • Waterproof
  • Chemical Resistant
  • Fade Resistant
  • Bleed Free (So Important)
  • Quick Drying
  • Ph Neutral

All the things you wouldn’t think to look for when trying to find the “perfect” pen but all important factors! Though a bit on the pricey side depending on how often you use them they can last around till around three months. The Micron Fine Pen is the pen I use each and every time to create all my art. For more examples of the smoothness I’m bragging about click here, LAINKWELL, to see it for your self. The proofs in the art!

Art Runs Through His Vains: @PaperFrank

Beauty, experience, and a journey can all be seen in Paper Frank’s artwork. I first met Paper Frank via Twitter in March 2012. Talking to him and appreciating his work has given me the push to continue on with my own work. From creating acrylic paintings to inking up art on bodies, his name says its all.

A self-taught artist out of Atlanta, he’s gotten involved in everything: graphic design, flat acrylic paintings, and tattoos. When I first came across his work I thought it was refreshing. The colors pop, the themes are entertaining, and the quality is all there.

He’s had a total of four solo shows and is only in his early twenties! His most recent show ” My Beautiful Anxiety” took place at Atlanta’s City of Ink on July 6, where Paper Frank works under thee Miya Bailey. If you have no idea what City of Ink is or who Miya Bailey is you haven’t truly lived yet. No worries though, this was once all a mystery to me as well.

When I reached out to him on Twitter I had no idea how well known his was. He even took the time out to drop some wisdom in my life, artist to artist. I’m glad I was able to speak with him, hopefully I can meet him in person one day! Maybe even get inked up! Until then I will continue to be inspired and support Paper Frank in his journey to success.

If you want to “peep” his work, you can check him out at www.paperfrank.com. Buy some of his work, vibe with his paintings and watch his growth, its a beautiful thing.
