Obagi Professional C Serum – @Obagi

A serum that’s just loaded with Vitamin C? What’s so good about that? And why go for this and not a fully loaded serum with anti wrinkle and fine lines ingredients, mixed with retinol and a buffet-like dose of multi antioxidants in it? Well, I’ve decided to give it a try anyway and then let me know if you’re a ‘yay’ or a ‘nay’ on this!

Site Information:

Obagi Professional-C Serum 15% is formulated with 15% L-ascorbic acid, the only form of vitamin C suitable for topical application. L-ascorbic acid reaches the deepest layers to the skin to provide superior antioxidant protection, defend against damaging UVA and UVB sun rays, contribute to collagen synthesis and help prevent premature signs of aging such as fine lines and wrinkles.

Suitable for all skin types, Obagi Professional-C Serum 15% also reduces inflammation to help soothe irritated skin.

As you can see from the description above on their website, it’s used mainly for defending your skin and that’s exactly what I had in mind when I bought this product. I’m a huge skincare regime person and I love to learn and know about more products and ingredients that are good for your skin, in the long run. In the past, my mind was set on “expensive = good ingredients = good for my skin” and don’t get me wrong, I still believe that but with much more “=’s”. Having a serum with mixed ingredients and working in a multifunctional way for your skin is good but not good enough, in my opinion. For me now, I’d like to work on fighting any future wrinkles and pimples and sun spots to the best that I can and this Vitamin C serum from Obagi does just that. I use this during the day right after I’ve cleansed and toned my face and then I’ll pat this serum on, drop by drop in all areas around my face. Usually I use about 5-6 droplets and that’ll be a generous amount for the day and boy, oh boy, did it make a difference. The first week that I’ve used it I remember looking in the mirror and loving what I saw. My skin was firmer for sure and clearer where it’s giving off a healthy glow/ shine, but I did still have my adult acne but that would be for another case and review (!). All in all I loved the product, I’m on my third month of the Obagi Vitamin C serum now and it’s still giving me the same firmness and glow that I saw in the first week that I’ve used it. I definitely think that having good skin means you have to work, outside to inside. Cleanse, Defend, and Care. Clean your skin at least twice a day, defend your skin from any harmful free radicals when you step out to go to work or to go pick up the kids or to go shopping with your friends and care for your skin at night with a moisture mask or maybe a retinol infused night serum. Working on defending your skin is often a easily forgotten routine that many women and men miss out in their regimes because maybe we’re just so caught in the moment of that zit on our chin or that wrinkle across our forehead that we’re just out searching for products that say they would remove those within weeks time or days time even, that we forget we’ll probably have many more to come in the future. Working to fight against that or slowing down that process is what would give you the gold medal during this Olympic time. I myself will continue with this product and move onto the 20% serum after this (I still have half the bottle to go though!) and hopefully I’ll be able to review that with a positive review too!

Yay!
