Charlie Gardner Collection

I love home and lifestyle products as much as every other domestic gal. @CharlieGardnerC is different from others because of their charitable donations towards local and international programs for disadvantaged youth. Grand Giving, a Charlie Gardner Foundation, helps create opportunities in disadvantaged communities for the youth by partnering with other brands, companies, and individuals that are looking to help as well. Two of the major charities Charlie Gardner has partnered with include Hoops 4 Hope, which inspire children to become productive, self-sufficient adults, and The Lunchbox Fund, which helps provide meals to at-risk and disadvantaged high school students in South Africa.

Their two candle collections India and Africa, embody the scents of the two ethnic, extraordinary places. India includes fragrant Royal Gardenia and Mosambi Blossom, exotic Indian Plum Berry and Monsoon Balsam evoke thoughts of summer nights, while the heady scent of Golden Amber Vanilla promises to invigorate. Africa smells of Indian Gardenia, and the intriguing spice of South African Sandalwood Safari Smell. Step off a wooden deck into soft, white sand; the scent of a beach house, or taste the wild vanilla pods as you’re whisked to the tropical island of Madagascar.

You can find their products exclusively at U.S. and London Anthropologie locations. For those that are eco-friendly minded, the Charlie Gardner Collection are 100% organic, natural, and recyclable!

@PearlWedCake Vodka by @PearlVodka

You don’t need a fancy white gown and a handsome groom to enjoy the new Pearl Wedding Cake Vodka!

I was really excited when I received the samples that Pearl Vodka had sent me. And before I started creating exotic cocktails, I decided to take a swig of it straight, so that I could experience the full flavor.

It was very tasty, with a wonderful flavor that wasn’t too sweet. I didn’t even need a mixer (and this is coming from someone who doesn’t care for straight liquor)! It reminded me of the smooth Panna Cotta gelato I once had, or Cold Stone Creamery’s Cake Batter ice cream, both of which I loved!

Here are some recipes from their website that look delicious (if I ever wanted to mix it with anything!).

Something Old, Something New

1¼ oz. Pearl Wedding Cake
½ oz. Domaine de Canton
2 oz. Fresh Sour Mix
Combine ingredients in shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into glass with ice. Garnish with a lemon twist and serve.

Wedding Cake Rosé Sparkler

1¼ oz. Pearl Wedding Cake
¼ oz. Arrow Pomegranate Liqueur
4½ oz. Prosecco
Chill glass. Pour ingredients as listed. Garnish with a fresh strawberry and serve.
*Note: all ingredients should be stored refrigerated to ensure the cocktail is served well chilled.

The Toast

1½ oz. Pearl Wedding Cake
½ oz. Rum
½ oz. Fresh Sour Mix
½ oz. Pineapple Juice
Top w/ 1 oz. Prosecco
Chill glass. Combine ingredients 1-4 in shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into glass. Top with 1 oz. Prosecco. Garnish with lime foam and coconut flakes and serve.

Love Potion #9

1¼ oz. Pearl Wedding Cake
½ oz. Gin
2 oz. Fresh Sour Mix
¼ oz. Monin Pomegranate
Combine ingredients in shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into glass with ice. Garnish with a lemon twist and serve.

Enjoy!

In Darling Companion, Beth (Diane Keaton) saves a bedraggled lost dog from the side of the freeway on a wintry day in Denver.  Struggling with her distracted, self-involved husband Joseph (Kevin Kline) and an empty nest at home, Beth forms a special bond with the rescued animal.  When Joseph loses the dog after their daughter’s (Elisabeth Moss) wedding at their vacation home in the Rockies, Beth, distraught and angry with Joseph, enlists the help of the few remaining guests (Dianne Wiest, Richard Jenkins, Mark Duplass) and a mysterious woman (Ayelet Zurer) in a frantic search.
Over the course of several days searching, the emotional and physical toll starts affecting everyone as their mountain adventure takes them in unexpected directions – comic, harrowing, sometimes deeply emotional and, ultimately, towards a new understanding of love.

Wedding-Ready at the Dulhan Expo!

My sister’s wedding is coming up, and being that it’s a traditional Indian affair, my mom, sister, and I visited the Dulhan Expo at the Hyatt Long Island yesterday!

Dulhan Expo is a series of Bridal Expositions designed to keep the modern South Asian Bride in mind. It provides the modern day bride with advanced wedding planning venues, saving them months worth of legwork by bringing wedding service providers from all different categories under one roof.

Everything from jewelry, henna, and hair & makeup, to stage decoration, centerpieces, floral arrangements, photography and videography, and catering was available for trial and review, along with some special event discounts for Expo attendees! Some companies featured at the event were Makeup by Naz Beauty, Suhaag Photography, Indian Clothing by Izaya Designs, Fern & Décor Stage Decoration, and Clothing & Jewelry by Luxemi.com.

Of course, the event is mainly intended for Indian/South Asian brides, but any bride-to-be is sure to find amazing wedding planners and service providers at this event.
