    Smirnoff in the HOUSE!

Our Smirnoff Experience contest winner/writer Amanda Jerome gives us a preview of the event through her eyes (incredible photography by Scott Tromley)…

“Welcome to the Smirnoff experience,” said two beautiful ladies as I entered the Guvernment. I was there to see Paul Oakenfold, the legendary DJ, and to have a good time, but I got so much more than that! The room was vibrating from the music and sheer energy of the massive crowd. Smirnoff red lights filled the club and made it glow.

The complimentary drink tickets given out by the Smirnoff ladies had the crowd at ease and helped get the party going. They were also passing out free Shutter Shades, so everyone in the crowd was sporting the Kanye West look. Cool drinks + funky shades officially equals a good time!

By the time the clock struck midnight the dance floor was packed, the fog machine was on full blast and a laser show was in the works, making the Smirnoff experience totally surreal. As the beats got louder people started climbing up on platforms above the crowd to dance and wind up the rest of the audience. It was madness I tells ya, madness! This was one of the most banging parties I’ve ever been to at the Guvernment, or anywhere else for that matter. If you weren’t there, you should have been.

Shadow Shields a.k.a…my favorite thing ever!

Problem: smudgy, messy, under-eye ugliness caused by eye shadow fall-out.
    Solution: Shadow Shields! http://www.shadowshields.com/

You HAVE to check this out. It’s a self-adhesive pad perfectly shaped to fit right underneath the eye. It “shields” all that excess makeup that falls under your eye making you look like you haven’t slept in a decade!

Instead of doing your eye makeup first, or having to use a makeup remover towelette to clean off excess shadow, prevent it from happening in the first place. What’s so cool about Shadow Shields is you can use them in a few different ways depending on the look you want. If you want dramatic lower lashes, put the Shadow Shields right underneath the lashes so it picks up excess mascara. If you are using glitter, only take off the adhesive off the very top of the Shadow Shields so it catches excess glitter that may fall all over the face. You can also take the adhesive off the entire Shadow Shield if you know the shadow won’t fall all over the face like I did below:

(If you use an under-eye concealer, apply after taking Shadow Shield off or else it will come off right with it.)

I was introduced to this company at The Makeup Show. I met Michelle Villanueva, make up artist, who is the creator behind this ingenious idea. Shadow Shields were even seen on the Today Show’s, “Best in Beauty” segment. Jackie Gomez (Beyonce and Solange Knowles make up artist) said, “Top Product of 2009! Truly Innovative!!”

Shadow Shields are currently available for $9.99/30 shields at www.beauty.com, www.dermstore.com and www.shadowshields.com. They’re also available at Sephora Stores.

Here are the results I had…

    SUCCESS! (=

    Home-cooking with B #3: Burger lovin!

“Food is our common ground, a universal experience.”– James Beard

I Love Burgers, but the only time I’ll ever eat them is if they are homemade. McDonalds, Burger King etc just don’t cut it! Gourmet burgers are best, because YOU get to customize them AND you get to see what really goes in your burger… plus the taste of fresh beef is waayyy better than a frozen pattie… jus saying 🙂 I made some burgers stuffed with blue cheese, and the stuffed the remaining ground beef with marble cheese.Yum yum yum!
This particular day, I wanted a simple but tasty burger; the beef was playing the starring role with the cheese as it’s supporting actor. I don’t always like lettuce in my burger, so I opted for A LOT of sliced tomato instead… tomatoes are the apple of love you know, and I cooks with love! lol.
What’s a burger without bacon? can’t make a movie without a camera right? so you know I had some bacon up in there!
Oh I also had a side salad of course, gotta get my fibre on! some lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, topped with cranberries! triple yum again!
the meat was juicy, cheese exploding in my mouth, while the tomatoes and greens offered a quenching freshness… mmm mmm GOOD!
Make some burgers this weekend, you don’t need a ton of ingredients to make a delicious burger! but remember, everything in moderation…
    ♥Bella♥
Have a lovely and safe weekend!
