Axolotl

I want one. They are so damn cool. These guys are actually Mexican salamanders that failed to go through metamorphosis and the adults remain aquatic and gilled. Not to be mean or anything, but I know of a few people just like this. Ahem, Boomerang kids.



Axolotls exhibit a property called neoteny, meaning that they reach sexual maturity without undergoing full metamorphosis into adults. Um, sad to say, I know a LOT of people who fall under this category too. But not as cute of course.

and someone thought it would be a good idea to dress up as them. WTF
