Event LOVE: #TOStyleMarket funtimes! @auwai_inc @katrinamckay

One of our favourite Toronto stylists Tamika Auwai invited us to a pop-up shopping event- The 2nd Floor Style Market, that she was hosting over at The Spoke Club on King Street, featuring stylish local fashion and beauty brands. We got to enjoy cocktails and snack on hors d’oeuvres while browsing through some of Toronto’s most stylish local brands.

Event LOVE: Passion For Fashion Awards @PassionFashion

A few of us gathered at the Toronto Fashion Incubator for the fourth annual Passion For Fashion Awards. It was an intimate evening that started off with a cocktail reception, where we all got to sip on cocktails, snack on hors d’oeuvres and talk fashion naturally lol. Then it was time for a presentation which featured the Passion For Fashion finalists, and the announcement of the winners of the Fashionista’s Den Competition.

Summer Grocery Shopping @Pacificfoods

Pacific Foods has a brand new line of All Natural Hemp Unsweetened non-dairy beverages and Organic Baked and Refried beans! They added these new items just in time for perfect summer parties. You can use these products to sub into regular recipes that you would make – but healthier!

The Pacific Hemp drink comes in a variety. This version is smooth and creamy with a nutty flavor. Made from the hemp seed, it’s a great source of plant-based nutrition including Omega 3 & 6 and essential amino acids. You can use this with smoothies, cereal and desserts. I used this to make chia pudding by adding vanilla extract, agave, hemp drink and chia seeds top with honey and bananas.

Also new from Pacific Foods is the beans collection! I am such a big fan of theses during BBQ season and they make a fast and easy side for any meal. They come in refried, pinto, black, baked beans, pork and no pork. The carton is easy to open and perfect portion for 2-4 people. Beans are full of nutrients and fiber. They are great for you and really filling.

You can use them to make chilies or a side. One family favorite is baked beans with toast!

Event LOVE: @SkinnyGirl Cocktails with @Bethenny Frankel #SkinnyGirlTO

We were recently invited to the Skinnygirl Cocktails “Summer Styling Like a Lady” event, over at The Rosewater Room in downtown Toronto. Myself, Elana, and like a million ladies joined special celebrity guest/Skinnygirl Cocktails founder Bethenny Frankel for an evening of fun interactive sessions on fashion, decor, mixology, food, all while sipping on various cocktails from the Skinnygirl line (Sangria is my favourite by the way).

All the ladies were asked to bring a gently worn piece of business attire to help support Skinnygirl Cocktails as they teamed up with Dress For Success Toronto- a charitable organization which promotes economic independence for disadvantaged women in the GTA by providing them with professional attire for the everyday work place.

The event was hosted by Traci Melchor of CTV’s ETALK, and there was also an interactive Q&A session with Bethenny (which I missed cause I got carried away at they gym, then couldn’t decided on what dress to wear… girl problems.) After the Q&A session, we got a chance to explore the various interactive styling rooms, and of course, drank more Skinnygirl cocktails and snacked on for d’oeuvres for the rest of the night.

Event LOVE: @Swarovski Fall/Winter 2013/14 Collection Preview

We were recently invited to view Swarovski’s Fall/Winter 2013 Collection. The event was held over at the luxurious Shangri-la Hotel (so fitting) in downtown Toronto, and the room was beautifully decorated with gorgeous displays of the collection. I never know what to expect from Swarovski; but what I do know is that it never disappoints, I’m always blown away, I ooh, aah, and drool a little , and there are always so many beautiful pieces, and this was definitely the case that evening. You’ll see by my pictures that I tried so hard to hold all the excitement back (loves me some shiny thangs!), but ultimately failed, as I tried on pretty much everything and was acting a damn fool I also got to hang out with some of my favourtie bloggers. I had fun!
