Event LOVE: Preview Reception- Walk A Mile In Her Shoes

Last week we attended the preview reception for the Walk A Mile In Her Shoes charity walk at Turf Lounge  in support of the campaign to end violence against women. The evening was hosted by CP24’s Steve Anthony, who was wearing heels by the way… in fact I spotted at least six men in heels, even the male serving staff were in heels, now that’s some serious support. We sipped on signature beverages like the blistered stiletto and the sling back which was absolutely delicious, and snacked on appetizers while being given tips and tricks on how to walk in heels, as well as how to look good while rocking heels. There was even a walk off between some of the men in heels, which was hilarious by the way, but oh so touching 🙂

The GM of Turf Lounge (middle) rocking those red stilettos!

    les noms…

There’s something absolutely satisfying about seeing these men in heels don’t you think?… maybe it’s just me 🙂

    Loves me some Anthony!

    Fun times were definitely had!

Thank you for inviting me 🙂

Event LOVE: Rickard’s Cardigan Tasting @RickardsBeer

We went to the launch of Rickard’s Cardigan about a week ago, and I have to admit that I was a little uneasy about attending a beer launch/tasting, simply because I don’t like beer, therefore, I don’t drink beer…BUT, I was pleasantly surprised! The first thing that came to mind, or rather to tastebud was apple pie… yes eating warm apple under a warm cozy blanket…mmmm (the beer wasn’t warm of course). Of all the beers I’ve ever tasted, this is totally my favourite, it’s easy to drink, and it’s delicious! Did I mention that it tastes like apple pie??? Perfect for fall drinking!

“Rickard’s Cardigan is the first seasonal beer under the Rickard’s brand portfolio.”

    hey hey hey 🙂

“…An autumn spiced lager infused with seasonal spices of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and a hint of brown sugar..”

noms that go PERFECTLY with the beer!

     always fun times with casie!

If you’re a lover of beer, I definitely recommend giving Rickard’s Cardigan a try, as it tastes good and goes down nice and easy. If you’re not a beer lover well… try it anyway! This is a seasonal beer done right!

I think it goes without saying that I had a good time… can’t you tell? 🙂

Thank you so much for inviting me, and for the beer!!!

    peace and love

Did you know? Rickard’s beers are brewed naturally using the finest ingredients and do not contain any additives or preservatives.

Event LOVE: @Swarovski Fashion Suite #SwarovskiRedCarpet

We got to attend an exclusive sneak peek of the Swarovski Fashion Suite, about a week ago and it was pure crystal heaven! The suite featured one-of-a-kind couture creations, the Bond 50th Anniversary collection, as well as the Kingdom of Jewels Fall/Winter 2012 collection. It was super hot and humid outside, but once I walked into the Swarovski Fashion Suite, I instantly cooled down, or maybe it was because I was too distracted by all the beautiful crystal pieces to care that I was dripping with sweat… whatever the case may be, the only thing on my mind was taking in all that crystal goodness. We sipped on prosecco and snacked on canapé’s while resisting the urge to jack a few of the pieces that were on display… beautiful torture.

Here are some of my favourite pieces!

    Event LOVE: @MassimoDutti Store Opening

“The Massimo Dutti woman aims for a style that is personal, while adding touches of fashion trends set on international catwalks.”

On Thursday night we celebrated the grand opening of Massiom Dutti in Toronto at the Eaton Centre.  This is the first-ever Massimo Dutti North American store, and let me tell you, as soon as you walk in, you instantly get this STRONG desire to shop! The clothing is fantastic of course, but I just love how the store is set up; it’s beautifully decorated, everything from the lighting and furniture to the way that the clothing is displayed. It’s just lovely in there. I got a lovely and informative tour of the store and everything Massimo Dutti from Aaron, during which I found so many pieces that MUST be mine, come rain or shine.

Look for Aaron when you go, he knows everything about Massimo Dutti, and he’s super friendly 🙂

    Robyn and Tamika 🙂

Event LOVE: #AhSeyOne A Reggae Insiders Musical Journey

On Wednesday night, I found myself laughing, hugging, cheering, sipping on Brugal Rum cocktails, and jamming to some serious tunes by The Sattalites, Brendan Canning of Broken Social Scene and Cookie Duster. Ah Sey One is part of the Sceneopolis TO event series, and was hosted by Cameron Bailey, who I’m told is  “reggae aficionado,” however most of you know him as the artistic director of the Toronto Film Festival (TIFF).

    Sweet sweet reggae music!

It was truly an awesome evening, the Sattalites gave us a lesson on the basics of reggae music from ska to dancehall, and they even touched on how rhythms differ, dub technology and the context of every genre in between songs.

I don’t normally drink rum… BUT… I will gladly sip on some Brugral Rum!

There seemed to be an endless supply of delicious Jamaican inspired  food and drinks provided by Harlem Restaurant, I mean mini-rotis, jerk chicken quesadillas, sweet potato spring rolls… yum! But what’s good food without good drink? We sipped on tasty Brugal Rum cocktails while eating, and rocking the night away, t’was wonderful!

Can you tell that I was having FUN…

Cameron Bailey and his wife 🙂

    Brugal Rum. Yum.

    always love seeing Christina!

    Andie 🙂

Me and Casie! (thanks to praxispr for the the photo!)

    Sun Ray!!

(thanks to praxispr for the the photo!)

It was such a fun night, and I met so many lovely people!

Thank you for inviting me 🙂
