Alessi at @Scavolini_Soho “Italy Comes Alive!”
Last week, I attended the delicious final event of the “Italy Comes Alive!” series. Sweet samples created by Tarallucci & Vino’s Chef Riccardo, made with Baci Perugina chocolates were served up to guests along with bubbly.
I’m one of those rare women who isn’t really into chocolate, but these desserts were so luscious and delectable that I had to keep myself from making loud “mmm” sounds with each bite!
The event was held at Alessi at Scavolini Gallery Soho, where the fully-functioning, high-end kitchen displays were used for preparation and a cooking presentation.
If you missed “Italy Comes Alive!” it was a series of events celebrating Italian style in partnership with Peroni and Baci Perugina, and featuring collaborations with Del Posto executive chef Mark Ladner as well as Tarallucci & Vino, all held at the Scavolini Soho Gallery.

@SEEEyewear Soho Grand Opening
SEE Eyewear Boutique just celebrated the grand opening of its new Soho store last week. I love, love their funky frames, and did I mention that their sunglasses are always just $99? SEE prides itself on offering “fashionomically correct” prices and they sell all of their styles exclusively, so you won’t find them anywhere else.
I had a litte fun trying on a few styles. What do you think??
SEE also has 2 other locations in Manhattan and locations in California, Colorado, DC, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee.

@CellureSkinCare Flagship Grand Opening
Cellure is a new skin care line that uses a highly concentrated adult human stem cell extract, called Lipotein™, to rewire signs of aging. The Cellure system marries with skin’s normal functions, dispatching powerful proteins that seek out damaged areas to help repair skin and restart its inherent regeneration.
Cellure’s flagship store in SoHo had its grand opening in October and I recently had a chance to visit. The store is just as revolutionary as the skin care line, with nine individual booths that offer customers a self-guided, step-by-step introduction with hands-on trial and mirrored video graphic installation.

I left the store with a day’s supply of the 5-step system. The system includes 6 products:
- Skin Cleanser: With antioxidants, goji and acai extracts, this powerful cleanser leaves a soft, refreshed canvas for a regenerating treatment.
- Balancing Toner: A toner mist that hydrates, balances and calms the skin’s surface with witch hazel, chamomile, and aloe.
- Serum Booster: Loaded with antioxidants, this highly potent serum contains Cellure’s highest concentrations of stem cell extract that works on the cellular level.
- Eye Treatment: Collagen with Pro-Vitamin B5 tightens skin around the eyes and improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Day Cream: An ideal makeup primer, the morning day cream interrupts cell degradation and dryness while fighting UV damage all day. Neither greasy, nor sticky, the day cream delivers a high concentration of stem cell proteins to create visible results.
- Night Cream: The night cream quiets inflammation, returns firmness to skin, and reinforces cell structure to produce a fresher surface in the morning.
THE RESULTS
The morning regimen left my skin glowing. I didn’t even have to use the entire contents of the sample tubes. Knowing that a little goes a long way was a plus, considering the products are relatively pricey. That night, I applied the PM products and went off to slumberland. In the morning, as I was washing my face with some of the remaining cleanser, I could feel a big difference in my skin’s smoothness. I still had enough product left to complete the AM regimen and another PM round.
Over the next couple days, I squeezed the last drops out of those tubes because I was addicted to my super soft, smooth skin. Cellure certainly knows what they are doing by letting customers experience the skin care system for themselves. Seeing is definitely believing!
Cellure’s skin care system is available online and at its flagship store in SoHo, New York. For more information, please visit www.cellureskincare.com.

Fashion SCOOP NYC’s Fashion Week Kick-Off
I did something I never done before – I went to an event and just enjoyed myself. Since the store was infiltrated with bloggers armed with Canons and Nikons – I took my time to talk and celebrate fashion with Tucked, Grungy and some new friends. ScoopNYC is the lick! I wore my 2BD necklace which was quite a hit and I brought my pal Jacob.
People are afraid of Jacob and Jacob is afraid of people. >_<
So here is how the txt messages went:
Y: Can I bring Jacob
J: Yeah I guess
Y: How is it
J: Picking up
So then I show up with my dog… and Justin is like… oh that’s Jacob? Lol.. And then I went to go fetch 2 lime Belvedere gimlets
Super Long Tongue
One of the things that really stood out to me this week during Social Media seminars is what one of the panelists said: Well isn’t fashion just one big insecurity. That really got me thinking about the values people place on fashion and the spectrum goes from ‘matters a lot’ to ‘it doesnt matter’. Of course in a room of NY’s finest, everyone skews to the left – and everything matters a lot to them from head to toe. The one thing I really noticed what how nervous Jacob was. Usually dogs pick up the energy of those around him. If that was true, we were in a room with the best dressed anxious folks. Nevertheless, the party was a great turnout and the Belvedere drinks lubricated the conversations.
