    Forever Young Summer Looks @itcosmetics

IT Cosmetics has a few new products for summer and since I have never used this brand before, I was really looking forward to see what kind of products they had.

    IMG_9697

    1. Vitality Flush Stain Stick Lip & Cheek Reviver

This was a standout product for me because of the texture. It was very smooth and glided on easily and you only need to use a little on your cheeks to get a sun-kissed look. It is very versatile and the packaging is really nice. If I was going out and can only bring one product with me, I would bring this one because it is versatile and the color is soft enough that you really don’t even need a mirror to apply it.

This unique Vitality Flush Stain Stick Lip & Cheek Reviver from IT Cosmetics contains rich butters and essential oils that will nourish and condition, while allowing you to maintain your youthful glow!

DSCN45942. LBB Waterproof Lip Liner Stain

Lipliner is always the item I forget to use, buy and bring with me. I am such a glam and go girl that I skip a lot of steps that true make up artists follow. But when you skip steps, your makeup will not last the night even if you iPhone battery does. The LBB water proof liner stain is an all nighter. (in a good way)

Beat the heat this summer with the new Your Lips But better Waterproof Lip Liner Stain. With Peptides and Vitamins A, C, and E, this must have liner will plump your lips.

    3. Vitality Lip Blush™ Hydrating Gloss Stain

I am such a Lipgloss snob and I have over 100 different ones. This product for me was just average. I like that it was not sticky in texture but the color was not my favorite for this season.

IT Cosmetics Vitality Lip Blush Hydrating Gloss Stain which is infused with nine butter and oils that will pamper your lips without that giving them that sticky feeling. This lightweight serum repairs and protect while offering a beautiful pigmented shine.

    4. Limited Edition Heavenly Luxe™ Vanity Brush Set

Love Love Love this!  This brush set comes in the best little carrier and it has all the essential brush you need to create an elegant look without too much fuss. The brushes are high quality enough that you will get a polished look but not so expensive that you are worrying about someone stealing them on set or backstage. I like this because it is compact, useful and sophisticated!

Feather your way to happiness with this 6-pc Limited Edition Heavenly Luxe Vanity Brush Set made from 100 percent Ultra Plush, Cruelty Free Bristles.

    E.L.F. Mineral Makeup Brushes Review

I recently purchased brushes from @eyeslipsface‘s Mineral Makeup line. I got the All-over Eyeshadow Brush, Contour Brush, Blending Eye Brush, and Angled Blush Brush. Their website describes them to be:

“This antibacterial Taklon bristled brush is 100% cruelty free, luxuriously soft and can be used with wet or dry products and is ideal for e.l.f. Natural Mineral Makeup. The natural and sustainable bamboo handle fits ergonomically in your hand for comfort and precise application. The recycled Ferrule is eco-friendly for guilt free beauty. Because beautifying yourself and the world is a beautiful thing!”

I must say I’m actually a bit disappointed with these brushes. They’re $5 a piece which is more than their Essential AND Studio brushes. The bristles are pretty soft but don’t apply product amazingly (their cheaper Studio line brushes are better, in my opinion.) For the eye brushes I got, they’re all shaped about the same as my professional brushes except the feeling when you drag them over your fingertips or on your eyelids don’t feel the same. I can’t quite put my finger on how to describe it. I think these brushes remind me more of soft craft and painting brushes rather than makeup brushes.

The All-over Eyeshadow brush was probably my least favorite of the bunch. I found that I had to apply more layers of shadow in order to get the color payoff I wanted. Sweeping the brush gave you a pretty even sheer color depending on the eyeshadow you used. I would say pressing the brush on to your lid would result in better color payoff. Overall I felt that even for the price of this brush, there’s way better ones out there even from their Studio collection.

The Contour Brush, to me, is just like a large pencil brush. It’s usage is described to be for “detailed contouring and blending in the crease and corners of the eye” but maybe because I have relatively small lids and an even smaller crease area (because I’m asian) it doesn’t really work for me. I tried applying my outer corner color with my regular pencil brush and blending with the Contour brush and it seemed to do the job. It’s got a stiffer point than the Blending brush but it works.

The Blending Eye Brush was my favorite of the eye brushes I purchased. It’s the softest of the brushes and does a good job of blending. I actually found good use of it to apply my darker outer corner color as well. I like to dip it in a bit of color like a black or brown and spin the brush between my fingers on the outer corner of my eye to get a soft but opaque color (then blend out the edges of course).

The Angled Blush Brush was pretty good actually. It picked up color pretty well and distributed product evenly. Comparing it to my Essence of Beauty double ended Blush and Powder brush, I actually think this brush is better (even though it doesn’t have a powder brush side). Given my Essence of Beauty Blush and Powder brush is really old now it didn’t stand up as well as my Essence of Beauty Foundation/Concealer brush or my Eyeshadow/Blending brush. The reason I think the E.L.F. Angled Blush Brush will stand up better is because the bristles seem to be softer than the Essence of Beauty one and with good care and washing, should last you a while.

Overall I still prefer professional makeup brushes over these E.L.F. Mineral brushes any day! These brushes took time to get used to and just didn’t apply product as good as I’d hope. I’m not saying E.L.F. brushes are a no go in general though. I happen to really love a few of their Studio brushes (which I will review when I get to it :)) I do think that these brushes are not the top brushes from E.L.F. and for being brushes for Mineral makeup, I’m not quite sure how these would apply mineral makeup better than regular makeup. I would think that if these brushes aren’t AMAZING at applying regular makeup, they most likely won’t give you the greatest color payoff or the look you desire with minerals. I have not tried these brushes with mineral makeup yet but if you have let me know how it works for you.

If you’re into the cruelty-free and recycled part of the brushes I’d definitely say try these. These would probably be good brushes to use for a few months and replace and with the affordable prices you can definitely replace them as often as you want. I recommend replaces brushes especially face brushes every few months for those with acne or problem skin (bacteria lives and grows in your makeup and makeup brushes, reusing dirty brushes just spreads around the acne/problem causing bacteria).

Find these brushes and the rest of E.L.F.’s products online or at your local Target!

    Klix Make Up Brushes Review

Recently, I received these awesome Klix Make Up Brushes which I think are super cool.

“Klix features replaceable, recyclable makeup brush heads, so you won’t have to spend time cleaning, rinsing, drying and reshaping your makeup brushes, only to find they never quite work the same again. And they aren’t even clean. With Klix, you can ensure flawless makeup application and protect your skin from blemish-causing bacteria. All with the click of a button.”

They currently offer these brushes with replacable applicators in a powder brush, concealer brush, and blush brush. The synthetic brush hairs were surprisingly very soft on my skin. I was skeptical about how the quality of the brush fibers would be since they are disposable, not meant for long time use, and relatively inexpensive. The bristles are white so you can see how dirty the brush gets as you use it and can replace the brush head when you feel its got too much makeup, dirt, and oil stuck in it.

With just a click on the handle, the brush head pops off and you can replace it with a new one.

I think this is a great idea since makeup brushes are probably the most bacteria-filled things we touch to our faces on a daily basis. To me, washing brushes is the biggest pain in the butt! Not to mention, washing brushes will never fully sanitize your brushes. So far, I like the brushes a lot. I don’t think I’ll be needing to replace a brush head for at least 2 months or so but it totally depends on your skin type, skin care routine, and types of product you use. Love that the quality of the brushes are pretty good and can definitely match up to my pro brushes for everyday application.

A Set of 3 brushes (powder, concealer, and blush) is $59.95. Each replacement set comes with 2 replacement heads. Powder brush replacement are $11.95 for 2, Concealer brush replacements are $9.95 for 2, and Blush brush replacements are $10.95 for 2. They’re also giving away a set of 2 disposable Kabuki brushes with the purchase of a full set! Great deal!

Overall, I think these patent-pending brushes would be a good purchase. I would recommend these especially to people with problem skin (sensitivity, acne, etc.) because a huge source of your skin issues could be from the brushes you use. No one could dare ask you to stop wearing makeup (total crime to ask that of a woman) but making sure you’re being as clean and sanitary can go a long way when it comes to beautiful skin. Besides, who doesn’t love the thought of new brushes every few months! 🙂

You can purchase these on the Klix Make Up Brushes website. Try them out and let me know how you like them 🙂

    @RoyalLangnickel Brushes

Continuing my IMATS haul, my absolute happiest and most exciting things I got are from @RoyalLangnickel 🙂 During their pre-IMATS media event, they shared with us lots about their new brushes and brush sets (which you can read about in my previous post about them.) In our lovely goody bags, they gave us the best gifts ever. Best thing you could ever give a makeup enthusiast… A GORGEOUS BRUSH SET! After they raved about their amazing new brushes made of  high quality natural and synthetic hairs, they gave us each a brush set of our own 🙂

All 11 brushes that came in the set come from their new pro line, SILK. Best part is that all these brushes were put together into a exclusive limited edition set by Kevin James Bennett and by exclusive I mean this set of brushes won’t be available anymore. They were only given to those that attended the event!

As if that wasn’t enough, while I was looking through the super crowded booth at IMATS, the amazing people at the Royal & Langnickel gave me ANOTHER brush set! I couldn’t find the synthetic flat top brush I was dying to get (because they had run out already by then) and the wonderfully generous Michael from Royal & Langnickel and Kevin James Bennett gave me their SILK Pro 25 piece Brush Set. I remember asking them “Are you sure you want to give me this entire set?! (which a gigantic smile/surprised look on my face)” and Kevin saying “Don’t question it! You should run with it when someone hands you something great like this!” Hahaha 🙂

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love this set! It comes with all the brushes I consider necessities and pretty much any brush I would ever really need. I’ve been breaking in my brushes since I got them and I absolutely love how high qualities the bristles are and the types of brushes they put in this set. My favorites have to be the synthetic flat top (foundation) brush which I use to many more things than just foundation, both the powder and blush brushes, the lash comb, and the pencil brushes! I think this is my newest most favorite prized possession! Luckiest girl ever right? To leave IMATS with not just one but two fabulous brush sets 🙂

Whether you’re a makeup lover or a makeup artist, they have great brushes for everyone! One thing I love is that they have QR codes on every brush now! These QR codes will take you to a page that will give you info about the brush and how-tos. How great is that!

They also have a new line of Silk Pro Greenline which are made with bamboo handles making them eco-friendly!

Make sure you check out Royal & Langnickel’s brushes and their new website for yourself! Follow them on Twitter @RoyalLangnickel!
