    The 15th @NYChocolateShow this Weekend

Here at HeyDoYou, we are not strangers to delectable goodies like Chocolate!  We are so excited to be attending this show in New York! What is more exciting than ooey, gooey chocolate?

The ‘City That Never Sleeps’ is about to get a bit sweeter this November with the return of the world famous New York Chocolate Show, once again taking place at The Metropolitan Pavilion (125 West 18th Street, New York, NY) from Friday, November 9 through Sunday, November 11, 2012. Celebrating its 15th anniversary here in NYC, the show has continued to grow by leaps and bounds culminating in this year’s affair, which will have event favorites that attendees have grown to love over the years, and some new surprises and additions.

The show, also known as Salon du Chocolat, was founded by Sylvie Douce and François Jeantet and is truly a celebration of all things chocolate. A worldwide success, Salon du Chocolat is recreated in other chocolate loving cities year round including Paris, Bordeaux, Cannes, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Bahia, Bologne, Le Caire, Seoul, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Zurich. The 2012 show in New York will feature more than 45 national and international chocolate companies showcasing chocolate and chocolate-inspired confections available to sample and purchase (see list of participants to date below). Attendees will be blown away by the breadth of cocoa creations from chocolate bars, truffles, pralines and bonbons combined with unique and exotic flavors such as wasabi, bacon, and Champagne, to chocolate wines, chocolate sculptures, hand blended spices, and delectable chocolate baked goods.

This year’s show will feature an exciting line up of celebrated pastry chefs who will share their tricks of the trade at the show’s two Culinary Theaters with demos spanning all three days. Noted demo chefs include Jansen Chan of Oceana in New York who has been featured on several episodes of Food Network Challenge, Eric Wolitzky of Cakes & Ale in Atlanta, GA (just named one of 10 best new restaurants in 2012 by Bon Appetit), and Katie Rosenhouse, formerly of David Burke Restaurant Group and winner of Food Network’s hit
show Sweet Genius. Celebrity pastry chefs and chocolatiers will also be on hand to sign copies of their cookbooks, including Maricel Presilla, author of The New Taste of Chocolate – A Cultural and Natural History of Cacao with Recipes, Kathryn Gordon and Anne E. McBride, authors of Les Petits Macarons, and Nick Malgieri, author of BAKE!: Essential Techniques for Perfect Baking.
