I love @PaperFashion Katie Rodgers
Katie Rodgers created the site Paper Fashion in 2009 as an outlet to share her fantastical watercolors with the world. It has since taken her on an incredible journey…
Katie grew up in a small country town just outside of Atlanta, GA. Living in the country with three brothers, she would often escape into her own imaginative worlds. Her aunt gifted Katie her first professional set of watercolors before the age of 7, and needless to say, she fell head over heels in love with them. Fashion, whimsy, and nature have forever been lurking inside her mind and onto the blank pages of her watercolor blocks.
Katie currently resides in New York City.
She has been commissioned by the likes of Valentino, Swarovski, Clé de Peau, Kate Spade, Coach, Alicia Keys, Calypso St. Barths, Stuart Weitzman, Parker Pens, Lacoste, and Glamour Magazine among others.

Sad I missed the #NewEraIntroducing Project event! @new_era_TOR
I feel like majority of the awesome events happen when I’m traveling! Last night New Era introduced Toronto to the “creative minds of tomorrow” through a unique gallery experience, showcasing up-and-coming talent from across North America. I wasn’t able to go, but Twitter was buzzing with tweets about all the amazing New Era 59FIFTY caps!

A little about the New Era Introducing Project.
New Era Introducing is a global creative project that was launched by the brand’s EMA branch, and aims to give unique, up-and-coming talent an opportunity to make their own artistic statement using a blank New Era 59FIFTY fitted cap as their canvas. The top 100 artists were given a blank New Era 59FIFTY cap and asked to transform it into a distinctive work of art and capture the creative process behind their design, detailing it’s birth, creation, experience and influences.
Here are some of my favourites from the exhibit!

I’m so gutted that I missed this event… However, if you’re in Toronto, you still have a chance to check out the exhibit today at Edward Day Gallery (952 Queen Street West #200) from 12pm-7pm. Go, go go!
Congratulations to all the artists on a job well done! And thank you to everyone who tweeted and instagramed pics of all the awesome hats!
peace and love

A Sandy Halloween
After crazy the crazy Hurricane Sandy and the mess it left New York in, very few of us are in the mood for Halloween. Despite the debris and no subway, I just hope it wasn’t ruined for the kids! Lucky for those of you who were smart enough to celebrate on Saturday and get a good use of your costumes.
The last few Halloweens have not been so fun for me 🙁 But there will be lots of discounted candy on sale everywhere tomorrow!
Time to stock up!

Bits and Pieces of Love: Art by Samuel Price
West Coast artist, Samuel Price has the perfect holiday gift for pet lovers worldwide. If you have a dog or know dog lovers like me, you know they have tons and tons of dog things and their lives and schedule’s pretty much revolve around their dog! Price creates custom portraits by assembling hundreds of hand-cut, recycled magazine squares onto canvas. He takes photography that clients send him as a reference point and go from there. They are such beautiful pieces of art and they would be a great piece for a home, office or vet clinic! His goal is to capture the individual personality and spirit of the animals featured. I would love to get one of Jacob!Artist Samuel Price
