PHOTOGRAPHY LEGEND ELLIS FAAS AT THE RETURN OF “THE ICON GALLERY”

Los Angeles, CA (January, 2015) – The Makeup Show has announced the return of their Icon Gallery March 28 and 29, but this year the gallery will be featuring another legend in makeup and photography: Ellis Faas. From her first foray into the industry as a photographer Ellis has always explored the versatility and magic of makeup. After working in Paris and London, Faas headed back to her hometown of Amsterdam and began to work with photographers including Mario Testino, Peter Lindbergh, Karl Lagerfeld, Paolo Roversi, Miles Aldridge and many more. She has worked on designer campaigns for Giorgio Armani, Chanel, Fendi, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Moschino and Junya Watanabe among others.
Ellisʼ work has been published on the covers of the world’s best-known fashion magazines. Additionally, Ellis has worked for make-up brands, such as Clinique, Lancôme and MAC Cosmetics – and she was asked by L’Oréal to create a make-up line for their skin care brand, Biotherm. After the contract with LʼOréal ended in 2007, the way was paved for her to create her own brand: ELLIS FAAS. With an eye for color and texture, as well as the excitement she could bring across in a makeup application, Faas captured the world’s attention. Her eponymous line captures her same aesthetic.
This showcase of the Icon Gallery will feature bits of her work from all areas including her makeup, photography and beauty brand. Be sure to come by and be inspired by a legend. The Icon Gallery is complimentary and open to all ticket holders of The Makeup Show LA.
