    Resuscitate Your Hair

5 quick steps to help resuscitate their hair to its proper glory

    • Step #1: Protect & Reconstruct. The heat can be very drying to the scalp. Incorporating a soap and alkali-free shampoo into your daily regimen can help to stabilize hair structure, as well as treat sensitive and delicate scalp conditions. Sebamed Scalp Activating Shampoo is a pH balanced wash that naturally supports scalp circulation – which is essential for hair growth and thicker-looking hair. ($14.99, SebamedUSA.com)

    • Step #2: Targeted Treatment. Applying heat or using chemical products are habits that we all find hard to kick, but with the humidity at an all time high during the summer, so is hair breakage. To restore and nourish hair to its proper glory, apply a deep conditioning treatment formulated with coconut oil, as these are rich in fats that are attracted to hair proteins, 1-2 times per week. Apply at the crown of the head to the tips (hair generally isn’t dry at the roots).

    • Step #3: Add Life To Your Color. The pool feels great on hot days, but chlorine is destructive to our hair, especially if it’s chemically treated, as it can strip the hair of its natural color. To restore your hair color, we recommend heading to the salon for a gloss or glaze treatment every 3 to 4 months. They are less costly and will restore the tone of your original hue while adding shine.

    • Step #4: Shield from Harmful Rays. Sun exposure not only does number on your skin, it can ravage your hair too! As you head outside, toss on a hat or scarf and opt for styling products that can withstand rays with UV protection.

    • Step #5: Promote New Growth. Dry hair is cause of those dreadful split ends. Try trimming your hair every 6 weeks and incorporating an all-natural supplement into your routine to stimulate new growth.  Aviva Hair Revitalizer is a proprietary dual complex that works with your hair’s natural cycle to rejuvenate and improve the health of hair follicles deep below the surface for stronger, thicker, and more beautiful looking hair. Aviva hair growth vitamins help support hair structure and encourages new, emerging hair. ($59.95 for a 30 day supply, AvivaHair.com)
