Emily Miller started her career in makeup as commercial talent who became transfixed by the beauty and artistry created by the makeup artists she worked with. They inspired her to learn the craft and she picked up books by acclaimed makeup artists Kevin Auchoin and Bobbi Brown. As Emily tells it, “I was enamored by what they did and I wanted to do it. So I studied their techniques and I taught myself the skills that would allow me to follow my true passion.”Since May of 2010, Emily has become a highly successful bridal makeup artist and has become the “go-to” artist women clamor to on their special day. “I adore doing weddings,” Emily enthuses. “They are thrilling to me. The event is marked by so much happiness, love, anticipation, desire, fun… there are so many wonderful emotions!”
Emily’s clientele often remark about how calm she is throughout the entire bridal makeup process and it’s a quality that has lent to her explosive success as the brides appreciate her soothing presence on an often stressful day. Emily maintains this presence throughout the process while ensuring that entire wedding parties are executed flawlessly. After the wedding, the brides are quick to recommend her. Her secret to success, she says, “rests in presenting healthy skin that enhances what is already there rather than creating something that isn’t. Everybody has a feature that stands out and I notice it and I find beauty in that feature.”
While ensuring that the best skin and makeup of her client is presented, Emily is skillful in executing every type of look imaginable, from simple to bold, and she uses only professional products and recommends airbrush makeup. When I first saw these on Temptalia, I was so excited to try these for myself! I love LIP TAR and I think these colors are so festive and fun. Here are the 6 colors from the Metallurgy Collection.
First up, ICED. This is a metallic white liptar, a PURE WHITE FROST METALLIC. This looks almost like a sheer lilac with the natural pink of my lips. Wearable and oh so innocent.
Triptych is a photography term that means 3 photos that make one. It is the liptar that is a TRUE JEWELRY GOLD METALLIC. You can use a good gold liquid eyeliner as a lipliner for this. I used the Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner in Diamond Gold.
Yaoi is probably my fave! It is similar to Nylon and Anime but with a metallic sheen. Perfectly pink pearlescence makes everything better!
Electric Grandma is great for every complexion. A METALLIC SEQUEL TO GRANDMA, a coral that is wearable for the holidays, into spring and probably summer too. Wish I had this for the wedding I went to in September.
Super NSFW is a twist on the classic red. Not Safe For Work but safe for every other occasions like kissing under the mistletoe… The golden speckles in it is not obvious until you wipe the lip tar off your lips. It is described as A METALLIC SEQUEL TO NSFW.
Authentic is the most wearable shade and it is a FULL BRONZE/COPPER METALLIC. This one reminds me of what I rocked in 11th grade when I was trying to be Jenny from the block.

Toronto Frocktail Party 2012
The 4th annual Frocktail Party was a huge success with more than 600 guests who came out to support the JDRF. This year’s event had a record breaking auction – nearly doubling the previous years raising $30,000. The Frocktail Party 2012 raised a total of over $55,000 which brings the four year total to nearly $150,000.
Some of this year’s auction highlights include a custom suit from Garrison Bespoke taking the title of highest selling item, Suzanne Rogers Marchesa gown was the highest selling dress and the Smythe blazer donated by eLUXE sparked a major bidding war.
Notable guests from the evening were Suzanne Rogers, Johnny Hockin, Tommy Ton, Stephen and Kirk from Greta Constantine, Jenna Bitove, Ainsley Kerr and John Muscat from Line Knitwear and Fashion Blogger Jay Strut.
