Eyeshadow Palette from @GiselleCosmetic
Looking for an eye shadow quick fix? Giselle Cosmetics is the solution! With their perfectly matched 8-in-1 eye shadow stack of complimenting mineral shadows, Giselle Cosmetics Mineral Make-Up embraces the challenges that all beauties face. We all know that mineral makeup has endless benefits, but I especially like the look and feel of Giselle Cosmetics on every skin-type!
- Oily Skin: There are no oils to clog pores or make skin look shiny, thus allowing the skin to breathe. Use of this color cosmetic pallet will give you a lot of choices.
- Dry Skin: Giselle Cosmetics uses no talc so makeup won’t settle into the tiny lines and wrinkles that can make your skin look old and dry.
- Sensitive Skin: There is no fragrance, no fillers, and no chemical dyes to irritate your skin.
- Youthful Skin: Giselle Cosmetics provides sheer, beautiful, youth enhancing coverage without the “made-up” look.
- Mature Skin: Giselle Cosmetics contains mica, which is a natural light reflector, giving the skin a youthful, healthy glow.
- Sun Sensitive Skin: Giselle Cosmetics utilizes the mineral Titanium Dioxide to provide natural sun protection as an SPF 15. Virtually all skin types, colors, and ages will benefit from the beautiful, natural approach to a flawless looking complexion.
Made from 100% pure mineral powder and mica color, Giselle make up can be used as eye shadow, lip color, eyeliner, blush, shimmering tan, shimmering foundation, body bronzer, nail polisher, and hair lightener — a great addition to any cosmetic collection.
I first saw Giselle Cosmetics at IMATS in NYC, and the ‘Las Vegas’ stack immediately became my go-to palette. With eight colors ranging from bright emerald greens and blues, to a natural beige highlight, Giselle Cosmetics really took the guesswork out of creating the perfect palette. Also, the stacks are interchangeable, so, if you’re a neat freak like me, you can color-code the stacks and order the shadows in whatever way works for you!
What I love most about the shadows is that their ultra fine loose mineral powers are great for blending, super bright, and they’re true to their color. Try mixing the shimmer shadows with aloe or any other gel moisturizer to get that runway foil effect!
Giselle 8-in-1 eye shadow stacks are available for purchase on their website for $14.97. There are 12 sets of 8 in the collection.

Hiking with Your Pup
There are a few things I am getting really excited for this summer and one of them is hiking with Jacob! Jacob loves going on walks in the city and to parks but when we are hiking all his senses come alive and he is truly ANIMAL!
A few things I got to prepare me for the summer hiking season…
1: Doggy Backpack
3. Quaker 90 Calorie Granola Bars!
The Trail Hound’s Handbook reinvents the hiking guidebook as a pet-focused, outdoor activity guide for kids and their families. With a lighthearted voice and a slew of fun facts, the format provides immediate pay-off to the curious hiking novice and dog-loving kid, as well as valuable, common sense skills to support a lifetime of outdoor adventure. Have you ever used a trekking pole on your hikes?
Ellen Eastwood has a lifetime of dog loving under her belt. She believes most of her self-confidence as a teenager was gained on the trail and from her loving family dog. It’s no surprise then, that Ellen was led to create The Trail Hound’s Handbook. Having earned a journalism degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Ellen has more than 15 years of advertising and newsletter copywriting and design experience. Years in the classroom with preschool and school-age children, and her current position as mother of four (two children, two dogs) further prepared her for writing this book.
Ellen and her pack currently reside in Westlake Village, California, surrounded by the rugged Santa Monica Mountains. When she’s not outside with her dogs, Ellen is volunteering at her kids’ schools, working on her new website, KidsHikeDogsHike.com, or playing basketball in a local women’s league.

8 Days til @GoogaMooga
On May 19th & 20th, 2012, Brooklyn’s historic Prospect Park will transform into an amusement park of food and drink, The Great GoogaMooga. Approximately 75 food vendors, 35 brewers, 30 winemakers and 20 live music performances will be on hand to help us relish some of life’s greatest pleasures—gathering with friends and neighbors to eat, drink, talk, laugh, dance, linger and just . . . be together. We envision a place where the best chefs and purveyors can serve their food and bring about instant elation. Where everyday food lovers can discover and share amazing new tastes, and where the right slice of pizza can be as treasured/praiseworthy as four-star fois-gras.
And with such an inclusive feel that it will appeal to everyone who eats.
In order to take this idea from the imagined to reality, we reached out to a team of collaborators, contributors, dreamers and tinkerers that includes Anthony Bourdain (author and host of No Reservations), David Rockwell (founder & CEO of the Rockwell Group), Tom Colicchio (chef & judge of Top Chef), Garrett Oliver (brewmaster of the Brooklyn Brewery), Paul Grieco (sommelier/co-owner of Terroir & Hearth), Eddie Huang (chef/owner of Baohaus) and several others.
As the presenters behind some of today’s most successful festivals, we’ve been inspired by the rich food traditions of New Orleans where Superfly got its start, the stick-to-your-ribs goodness of Tennessee down home cooking at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival and the vibrant flavor of the Bay Area’s Californian cuisine, wine and produce which is omnipresent at Golden Gate Park’s Outside Lands Festival.
After a quick look around, there was no question but to hold The Great GoogaMooga in New York, amid Brooklyn’s swagger, enthusiasm, and adventurousness and of course, in beautiful Prospect Park. Already America’s food capital, New York is experiencing a culinary revolution that is transforming a whole generation into food enthusiasts. (“Food,” noted one critic, “is the new rock.”)

Beauties can be heroes, too! @BenefitBeauty & @Marvel
Benefit Cosmetics & Marvel have joined together to create SpyGal, a beauty-inspired comic book hero (click the above images to enlarge).
Read the press release below:
Benefit Cosmetics & Marvel Custom Solutions Transform Beauty Bestseller into Comic Book Action Hero
Get ready for thrills, frills & espionage! Marvel Custom Solutions, the custom publishing division of Marvel Entertainment, and Benefit Cosmetics, the San Francisco beauty brand known for its fun instant beauty solutions, have co-created SpyGal, the FIRST EVER beauty-inspired comic book hero.
SpyGal’s wise-cracking, pore-zapping persona was modeled after the POREfessional pore minimizing primer. With over 1 million products sold worldwide, the POREfessional is an international sensation. The POREfessional packaging evokes a vintage female action figure complete with a pore-zapping ray gun and touch-up pro case. She’s smooth! She’s sexy! She’s your secret weapon against pores!
“The superpowers of our bestselling pore minimizer, the POREfessional, created such an international sensation, we knew it was destined for greatness!,” explained Julie Bell, EVP Global Marketing at Benefit Cosmetics. “Marvel, the world’s top storytellers, helped us bring our action hero SpyGal to life in the first ever beauty-inspired comic book.”
Inspired by SpyGal’s covert mission to empower women around the world, Marvel and Benefit assembled a dynamic creative team including fan favorite writer James Asmus (Uncanny X-Men, Captain America) and acclaimed artist Phil Noto (Avengers: The Origin, X-Men Origins) to bring SpyGal to life in her collectors’ item debut comic book. Together they seamlessly blended the trademark humor of Benefit with the iconic action & drama of Marvel storytelling to create a witty, globe-trotting espionage adventure.
“It’s exciting to bring Benefit Cosmetics and Marvel Custom Solutions together for such a historic collaboration,” said John Dokes, Marvel SVP of Integrated Sales and Marketing, Publishing and Digital Media. “SpyGal is a dynamic, nuanced hero for a new generation and combining that with the unparalleled storytelling of Marvel brings fans one of the most unique comics they’ll read all year.”
In addition to pulse-pounding beauty action, this very first issue of SpyGal also delivers an exclusive behind-the-scenes peek into the collaborative process that transformed our globe-trottin’, face-savin’ secret agent into a comic book hero. Plus, fans can use the FREE Marvel AR app to access video content from the glamorous world of makeup using their smartphone or tablet!
“Marvel and Benefit both know that humor and intelligence can be a heroes’ greatest strength, especially when faced with life’s modern problems,” said Marvel Custom Solutions Editor Bill Rosemann. “SpyGal dispenses justice, beauty tips and witty life advice with an effortless grace, while also grappling with work and dating worries. Can SpyGal ever find Mr. Right…or must she sacrifice romance to the demands of her job helping powerful women spread their influence around the world? Writer James Asmus and artist Phil Noto reveal all in SpyGal #1!”
Packed with intrigue, romance and excitement, this limited edition SpyGal comic is available in May at Benefit counters everywhere. It’s undercover…and over the top!
So what does everyone think? I love this idea as well as Benefit Cosmetics! What a great collaboration. For more information on Marvel, visit http://www.marvel.com & for Benefit Cosmetics, visit http://www.benefitcosmetics.com/.
