    Protect-a-Bed @Bigbedbug

After hearing so many horror stories about BEDBUGS, I did some internet research.

Did you know dogs that are trained to detect bedbugs get paid $3000 per gig! Oh man. I decided to train Jacob with the bedbug toy Protect-a-Bed gave us at a convention.  Didn’t go so well.

Bedbugs emit a pheromone that is detectable by dogs. My dog, Jacob can only detect fun, peanut butter and furry toys.  So if you have a dog like mine, don’t depend on him to save you from BedBUGS.

    Me and @TracyCityLine

On my way to an event last night, I bumped into Jen and Charise who were so kind as to invite me to the Fireball 2011 event. The event was held in support of Sheena’s Place; a non-profit organization providing support for people with eating disorders and their families.

Big shout out to everyone that went to the event and showed their support 🙂

    A night with @ApothicRed

Last night, a bunch of us headed over to the Thompson Hotel to celebrate the launch of Apothic Red; a new and “epic” wine from California. I’m not a fan of red wine, but the Apothic Red wines are soooooo GOOD. There was lots of wine, food and good vibes. Overall, t’was a fun night!

Thank you to Apothic Red and PraxisPR for inviting us!

    peace and love

    Spritz that Here

Liquid Gold – Everyone and their mama’s are getting on the fragrance bandwagon. Perfume deals mean serious money and celebs and brands are all drinking the Kool-Aid. Fragrance houses develop hundreds of scents every year and they are waiting for someone to slap their name on it and then pick a pretty glass vial to house it in. The celeb involved never has to contribute any money and the product development is done entirely by the perfume houses. They split the revenue 50/50 and call it a day. Not bad right?  That’s why everyone is doing it now…

    Nine West Love Fury

And in 2012… Kanye West, Louis Vuitton, Nicole Richie, Top Model, Tory Burch, Jimmy Choo

What do you think? Who is next and which brand do you want to see make a fragrance?

    Sigma Beauty Kabuki Brush Kit

    Sigma Kabuki Kit

Hi guysssssss! I received these new @Sigma_Beauty brushes a couple weeks ago along with their Synthetic Brush Kit. The Sigma Kabuki Brush Kit features four gorgeous brushes made with synthetic fibers for maximum high def quality makeup application without absorption into the fibers. The brushes are super soft and apply both powders and liquids really well. Since I received these brushes, I’ve been testing them out for different uses. I tend to use brushes in ways that I think benefit me most rather than what they’re really said to be used for. Luckily, Sigma gives more of guidelines on what each brush can be used for instead of cut and dry directions (like a lip brush or a contour brush).

    Sigma F84 Angled Kabuki

    Angled Top Kabuki – F84

I’ve been using this brush for blush just like you would with any angled brush. I’ve even tried it with a cream blush and it works really well wet or dry. Just a quick cleaning with some brush cleaner and you’re ready to switch it up between products. This angled brush is a lot of like most other angled brushes I must say. Fibers are super soft and the brush is super thick but this one will join the other many angled blush brushes I own.

    Sigma F82 Round Kabuki

    Round Top Kabuki – F82

Sigma says this would be a great brush for foundations (creams, liquids, or even minerals). I used it once for a light layer of foundation and it works well but I still prefer to use a duo fiber stippling brush for foundation so instead, I use this brush to apply highlighter on my cheekbones. I know, some of you may think I’m an oddball for using this brush for highlighting but hey, it works for me. The bristles are so soft I don’t find it irritating the area below my eyes and the brush applies just the right amount of highlighting powder where I need it.

    Sigma F86 Tapered Kabuki

    Tapered Top Kabuki – F86

This brush is probably my favorite of the four because I love the way it looks and the way it feels. Sigma says it can be used to reach all the tougher areas of your face, for contouring, highlighting, or even applying primer. I’m not really sure I’d use it to apply primer but I do like to use it to apply concealer/foundation around my nose area. Occasionally, I try to go without a face full of foundation so I like to cover the redness around my nose with one product and one brush. This would be it. The bristles get right into the space between my cheek and nose perfectly. I don’t think I would use it really for highlighting or contouring but hey, it may work for you.

    Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki

    Flat Top Kabuki – F80

LOVE this brush as well. Super super soft fibers. If you read my post about my Royal and Langnickel brushes before, I was looking for this exact brush that they were out of. I’ve wanted this brush with these kinds of fibers for a while now! I like to use it to buff on powder foundation and to contour my cheeks with bronzer. It puts just the right amount of bronzer on the hollows of my cheeks and is soft enough not to take off any of my foundation as I put the bronzer on. Sigma also recommends this brush for foundation and I completely agree that it’s awesome for applying foundation (liquid or powder).

Hope you guys found this helpful! This set is super versatile and make a great addition to any large brush collection you may already have. I would say it’s definitely worth the $56 for four brushes. The brushes, since I’ve used them, haven’t shed or bled color at all. You can purchase them on Sigma’s website. Keep an eye out for my next post on the Sigma Synthetic Brush Kit with their four-piece eye brush kit 🙂

    xo, June 🙂
