Snap Your Fashion’s Night Out and Win!

Fashion’s Night Out is back for the third year, Thursday, September 8.  This global initiative was developed to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry’s economy, and put the fun back in shopping.

From New York to Atlanta to Milan, FNO is your chance to mingle with designers, celebs and performers at your favorite participating retailer.  And this year, it’s also a chance to win by entering the Snap Your FNO contest.

The contest has been organized in honor of FNO by Le Col Cashmere, designer of the urban luxury 100% cashmere snood, citifari NYC photo tours, modern-flair jewelry brand k20 by KarenKo, and French photographer Charles Roussel (photographer for the Le Col website!).

Just snap photos of your FNO experience (taken between 6-11pm) and tweet the best ones, tagged with #snapFNO, to @LeColCashmere (by email to snapfno.2011@twitpic.com if you don’t have Twitter) by Friday, September 9 at 1pm.

The best 3 photos selected by a jury of photographers and fashionistas will win exclusive prizes from the sponsors, with first place winner receiving:

    • One Grand Col Cashmere (retail value $179),
    • One citifari NYC Tour for you and up to 3 people ($200 value),
    • One $100 Gift Certificate for K2o jewelry,
    • 1 personal session of portrait photography with Charles Roussel!

    Dekalb Market – Brooklyn

Coming off the Q train at Dekalb Avenue in Brooklyn, I stumbled upon the super-cute Dekalb Market.  How had this place managed to hide from me all this time??

The market, open year-round, with exception of January, February and March, features only small local businesses: food shops, jewelry and clothing boutiques and more!  It also has a beer garden and DJ.

This is one of the two dozen or so vendors in Dekalb Market.  Some vendors were set up in tents…

And some had pop-up stores in salvaged shipping containers like these.

I am a sucker for cupcakes.  This key lime cupcake from Robicelli’s was amazing.

Fudge sea salt brownie, also from Robicelli’s.  I wanted 10, but I just stuck to 1.

My favorite thing about Dekalb Market was the jewelry selection.  For a funky accessory-aholic like myself, this was heaven.  Most of the pieces were handmade, sold by the jewelry maker him or herself.  I wanted one of everything, but I ended up snagging these feather earrings.

Upcoming: DM is having a Fashion’s Night Out event Thursday, September 8 from 6-11pm, featuring one-hour open bar, fashion show, and vendor specials all night.

Check out Dekalb Market if you’re in the area.  In the meanwhile you can get additional information at: www.dekalbmarket.com
