    Special Re-Post #1: HeyDoYou x Gaylea

    All the Chefs!

I’d like to say thank you to Gaylea for inviting me to the Gaylea holiday culinary schools shortbread bake-off.
Students from George Brown College, Humber College, and Liaison College; prepared and presented their most creative, delicious, and original recipes. The competition was judged by a panel of shortbread experts, and I was asked to come along too!
Because I love bacon, the bacon and chive shortbread was an automatic winner… *don’t judge me!* lol

    Special Re-post #2: HeyDoYou x CONVERSE

“Always a brand (Converse) for those independent enough not to follow, the young company would take up with a young sport: Basketball.”– CONVERSE

So seeing as some of my posts have been disappearing, I felt it was SO necessary to do a re-post!
I was thrilled when asked to go view the debut of CONVERSE’s Spring 2010 collection.
I admit, I loved CONVERSE shoes from afar… I’m only 5”2, so pumps are always an automatic…I only received my first pair of “Chucks” (Prettiest fuscia you ever seen!) about a year ago and now that I’ve had a one-on-one experience with these bad boys; I’m definitely a fan!

There’s a certain “je ne sais quoi” that CONVERSE shoes have had since the beginning of the CONVERSE era back in 1908 and they still got it!

CONVERSE celebrates the influence of Punk Rock and Pop Art for Spring; honouring how music and art have changed the world. Robert Indiana, and Punk legends Blondie and The Clash inspired the latest
Chuck Taylor All Star Footwear Collection.

Through partnerships with pioneering brands, The Clash and Blondie; the collection showcases “fresh” interpretations of landmark moments in the history of music.
CONVERSE by John Varvatos debuted the first ever premium Star Chevron Collections for the spring. The Luxe interpretation of the CONVERSE classic includes; the Pro leather 76 and the Star Player. (I’m digging their names! Lol)
The collection was inspired by CONVERSE’S rich heritage in basketball, as well as John Varvatos’ passion for rock n roll and distinct attention to detail.

“The shoes combine a rich, hand-crafted look and feel with a downtown rocker edge; resulting in the perfect 70s basketball meets rock n’ roll vibe.”CONVERSE
The Pro Leather 76 and Star Player made their debut this spring within the the J.V collection; both styles bear the Star Chevron logo, feature luxe leathers, special logo treatments, and waxed and burnished finishes for a “broken feel.”
Did you know: CONVERSE also made tires back in the day?
Thanks to everyone at Converse Canada,

Thank you for Lights, I love them!
    ♥B♥
More of the collection in the video, but my youtube video is being a jerk right now, so I’m working HARD to fix it:)
    *update: Video’s working now! yay!!

    Shop Luello

An online boutique that sells men’s and women’s designer clothing, Luello carries a variety of collections for those with outrageous attitudes and lifestlye. Their inventory includes over 25 brands, with each of the catering to the young and energetic — the kind of people who don’t have the time or patience to be subdued by society’s expectations.

One of the women’s labels that Luello carries is Sinful. Designed for the aggressive but elegant woman, Sinful clothing conveys strength and beauty through pieces that are simple but edgy. In fact, the lable has been described as a rock n’ roll lifestyle with a sophisticated twist.

For men, Luello also carries Affliction clothing. This line embodies our generation’s fast and loud lifestyle. Affliction truly is a lifestyle brand, and they stand out from the crowd by focusing on pieces that feature an artistic edge and pemium fits and fabrics. One could say that Affliction is rooted in a sexy rock and roll aesthetic.

So Luello is worth a look if you’re looking for a way to express your energy and edge, but without going “over the top” with over-priced haute couture. Their over 25 labels have something for everyone, whether your style is a simple, relaxed and laid back one, or if you just need a few really casual but expressive pieces for those nights out at the pool hall or watching the game.

Something I learnt from living in the West Coast is the meaning of thoughtful casual. This is how to look ‘not done up’ but not sloppy either. I think a great graphic T is a hot conversational piece and just perfect for patio parties and roof top soirees. The best way to look ‘casual, sexy, cool’ is to mix and match. So a jersey T with sequins shorts, or denim short with boots and statement jewelry. Update your wardrobe and see get shopping. These two are my favorite!
