Not Trying
I would be lying if I said you don’t have to try. Effortless beauty is for those who are blessed, such lucky stars and few and far between – Believe that! However, it is always easy to spot the one who is trying to hard. You know the one that wears ‘inspired’ by Burberry from head to toe or the chick rocking 3 or 4 patterns simultaneously. Trying to hard can also be your attitude. You don’t want to the girl with overspent efforts. Trying to be cute and laughing at dumb jokes kinda girl. You don’t want to be that. With guys inundated with Beyonce’s and Jessica Biel’s – it might be hard to see yourself as someone’s dream girl. If you had all the resources they do (that includes money, trainers, glam squads, chefs, advisors, ambition, drive, support) what do you think you will be like? You would blow them out of the water. So be your own person. Pray for strength and wisdom. Strong enough to know who you are and stand by it. Wise enough to know your purpose in life. If the guy doesn’t like that, at the end of the day, you still like yourself. Proper hygiene, etiquette and sensibility goes a long way. Beautiful, you are.Let them love you for who are you, wholly at this moment in time.
Trying too hard is never hot.
so take it easy, you are way sexier that way.

80%20 Shoes
Hello from sunny Los Angeles! I went shopping yesterday at the Beverly Center and these lemon yellow wedges caught my eye! They were in LA’s hottest shoe store Eilatan. They come in navy blue, orange, beige and yellow. They are under $150! You can get them on Zappos or at 8020nyc.com. Eilatan is a dope store, they carry L.A.M.B and other crazy sky high heels you would never find unless you were a real shoe lover. You should check out their blog too. Here are some of my faves, lol all of them.

So I did a little digging and found out they are from NYC. The concept behind 80%20 came from owner and designer Ce Ce Chin’s observation that we tend to wear our favorite 20% of our wardrobe 80% of the time. Dream House
I absolutely love this ad. A fun house, a fun life, basically what I am all about. It gets hard sometimes when you are no longer a kid but not yet an adult. There are always a lot of expectation, a lot of waiting and learning how to be patient. Patience is knowing that the best is yet to come and not everything has to happen now. Waiting is something I have never been good at and I have been doing small exercises to help myself understand patience. For example, when I am shopping and waiting to pay – my instincts are to go to the shortest line and look out for the cashier who is just opening up. I shimmy my way over there and pay as soon as possible. The new exercise involved going to a mid size line and waiting patiently. Crazy huh? That is just a small example. In the grand scheme of things, I understand my impatience stems from fear. I am afraid of wasting time, I am afraid of running out of time, I am afraid of being late, being irrelevant and what else? Impatience = belief that time is running out. My mom always says, the time you have on earth has already been allotted. What you have, how much you receive and what your life will be is predestined. She has told me that constantly since I was young. I believe in human agency but I also believe in mistakes. I believe carelessness and rushing causes you more wasted time in the long run. I think being organized is the key of being successful and living an artful, meaningful life will make you happier at the end. I want my dream house, but I don’t want a house if that means it will cost me my dream. Ya dig?Live your dream, whatever that may be. Have you seen UP?

sip & Savour Ontario!!
sip & Savour Ontario is exactly what I did this past Tuesday. As a food and drink lover, I was so excited to attend this event!A little history:In 1995 Tony Aspler founded the Ontario Wine Awards; these awards recognized Ontario VQA wines (Vinters Quality Alliance) for their quality, distinction and brilliance. As a result “sip Ontario” was created to showcase Ontario’s finest VQA award-winning wines. “sip Ontario” teamed up with Savour Ontario to bring you the finest in Ontario food and wine together under ONE roof.This exciting event attracts vineyards and restaurants from all around Ontario; all of who recognize the importance of the thriving culinary industry in Ontario!
I sampled wines from the following vineyards (as I was trying to get as much info on the wines and food, I didn’t get a chance to taste all the wines *tear*. But I tasted a very good amount!)Black Prince Winery, Calamus Estate Winery, Caroline Cellars Winery, Chateau des Charmes Winery, Creekside Estate Winery, Dan Aykroyd Wines: Lakeview Cellars & Eastdell Estates, Hillebrand Estate/Trius, Inniskillin Wines, Jackson-Triggs Estate Winery, Kacaba Vineyards, Konzelmann Estate Winery, Le Clos Jordanne,Legends Estate Winery, Pelee Island Winery, Peller Estates Winery, Southbrook Vineyards, and Thirty Bench.
I got to meet some of the Chefs in attendance, as well as indulge in delicious hors d’oeuvres that were pre-selected to be paired with these fabulous wines! By the time I got to some of these vendors the food was gone!! That’s how GOOD it was!Chef Martin Kouprie was there for Pangea Restaurant, Chef Tim Dunhill was there for Old Mill Inn & Spa, Chef Ben Denham of Six Steps Restaurant & Bar, Chef Brad Long of Veritas Restaurant, Chef Betrand Alepee ofAmuse-Bouche Restaurant, Chef Anne Yarymowich of Frank Restaurant/AGO, and Chef Ryan Gustafson ofEPIC Restaurant.
This event was amazing! The Winery/Estate representatives were more than willing to teach people about the wines they were serving, and even taught a few people how to taste wine. The event was fun, educational and very interactive!
